I have had Pinterest for more than three years now, and I love it. In fact, like many millions of others, I am a Pinterest addict. I haven’t been crazy about some of the changes made to the app, but I’m still pinning madly. I do have one comment to make though, about the age group for which Pinterest is recommended. I have seen images and content offensive to adults. Definitely not suitable for children under 15, and some, shouldn’t be viewed by anyone younger then 18. The new order of comment paragraphs is confusing, with the last at the top. Instinct is to read from the top of the page, but now you need to go down to find your first comment.I find it amusing that you inform me you’ve deleted a pic because of copyright, and show me a photo of a bowl of soup. What was the actual complaint about? The photo of a bowl of soup? The ingredients used to make the soup were stolen? Ha ha, guys, your random computer generated pics to send as cover for what you actually deleted, are hilarious. But when you send a pic of something I would not have pinned in a fit, that’s a bit disconcerting...

When you first download Pinterest, you get SO caught up in the feeling of "oh, I NEED to save this, I need to save that" that you start saving WAYYYYY too many things, and the thing is, when you try to put it in a different board, it teleports you right BACK to the top, of all the pins you saved, and it’s VERY annoying, and I have 500+ pins so it’s hard and annoying to try to either, transfer your saves to a different board OR delete your saves, so if the owner of Pinterest could PLEASEEE allow you to get rid of many pins at once, and if you could do that then I would LOVEEE Pinterest so much more, and I think other Pinterest users will DEFINITELY appreciate and enjoy this too!!! Another thing is, since I just started on making boards a couple months ago,I’ve been tryna put things into right? But whenever I try to put things in the board that I had initially saved on my profile without any boards, it just duplicates and everything teleports back to the top of all my pins. Superrrrr frustrating and annoying soo I’m REALLY hoping for an update where whenever someone saves a pin that has already been saved to a new board, the one you initially saved deletes itself and, the one u save to the board saves, also can you PLEASEEEEEEE make a feature that allows any pins that we have saved on Pinterest that isn’t already in a board, we can just group a pile of them together into a board and then those pins that I have initially saved DOSEN'T duplicate and instead goes into the board in which I want it to!!!

I have been using Pinterest since I was 12 and absolutely love it. But they recently put in place a new policy meaning that all users under the age of 16’s account is made private and all boards shared with under 16’s will be disabled until all collaborators are 16. This is ridiculous, I am now 16 turning 17 and have had over half my boards, most I use for school, disabled. All my friends and board collaborators on Pinterest are all over 16 as well, yet our shared boards are lost. I am a VCE student and a lot of my subjects require evidence of though process and collaboration, this new feature means I cannot access the boards I use for the subjects and inhibits my ability to provide evidence and injures my study score and grade. I also lost a lot of boards for my passions of art and fashion, which I share with friends, and they are lost too. I’m taking about 5 YEARS worth of pins GONE. Pinterest is meant to be a place where users with common interests, likes and hobbies and collaborate and communicate with like minded individuals. A massive portion of Pinterest users are under the age of 16 and this inhibits and isolates them from a community of common people. This entire policy is stupid, unnecessary and ridiculous. I have written complaints to the help centre and hope this policy is dissolved and removed effectively and soon.

I have used Pinterest for years and years, it’s a good place for fandom and lots of creative ideas for drawing, but I do get annoyed with the shop feature where I click on an image or don’t even mean to and it takes me to the pin, I’d like it if the shop feature or find similar kind of feature was a bit more less touchy like if you held onto the picture or had a double or triple tap feature that way I wouldn’t want to yeet my device in frustration trying to get out of it just to get back into it again, and there’s a recent glitch where a lot of my pins that I’ve saved in collections don’t show up.. it gets quite annoying when your trying to save things to look back on :/ other than that it’s been improving continuously from when I first discovered it all through some features are just too touchy so 4 stars from me but that’s not a reason to not use this app.. it’s probably just the device cuz it works better on computers for me.. I do get stuck in a infinity loop of looking at one thing then scrolling down to find another then another if you know what I mean lol

I love Pinterest, it’s my favourite social media platform and it has been so helpful to me. I make lots of boards, and often use them for recipes, my experience plans as an educator, DIYs and inspiration. The great thing about Pinterest is that once you press a pin to go into it, it gives you a bunch of other pins that are related to it! Unfortunately, there is a downside to this, and it’s that people abuse this feature to gain traction on content that is upsetting, harmful and even illegal. In particular, self harm and disordered eating content is a major concern on Pinterest. As someone who is recovered from anorexia as well as orthorexia, I like leaving comments on these posts and then reporting them for promoting self harm (disordered eating behaviour). Most of the time, the content is so blatantly transparent that they’ll use terms like: edtwt, 200 calorie diet challenge, ana etc. Sometimes the posts get deactivated but most of the time, they don’t. I have reported so many posts, and when I get back that there’s no violations detected, I ALWAYS appeal. Now, it won’t even let me do that. It says ‘something went wrong, please try submitting your appeal again.’ It feels like this isn’t taken seriously. I have encountered thousands of young people sharing dangerous tips, body checking, encouraging harmful behaviour and yet somehow this isn’t violating the guidelines? And yet, Pinterest will take down people posing together, or slight blood, or even just something completely random for no apparent reason. The process for reporting comments/pins/accounts should be smoother, especially the appeal process. There should be contact information such as an email to consult with someone about this as well.

As a mobile user I loved being able to swipe down after opening a pin to continue browsing. Now almost every time I swipe an image I get random objects outlined in the pin to ‘shop’ with the image search feature (if you can call it a feature). Mobile use is one handed. Having users awkwardly reach to the top of the other side of the pin to click a ‘close’ icon button or selectively picking a spot in the image to swipe down from instead of swiping down anywhere is incredibly poor user experience and demonstrates how social media apps and platforms continue to put profit over users. Every. Time. As a long time lover of Pinterest as a concept and having spent much time on the app, I stomached the heavy use of ads when it was introduced but now I can’t spend more than 5 minutes on here without getting so frustrated I close it. Pinterest, if you want some ideas - you can keep your shopping feature but how about you have to tap and hold an image to get shopping options. I have no doubt many of your employees came up with the same idea but someone higher up preferred that users accidentally tap through to third party shopping platforms when trying to navigate away from a pin because that meant more money in their pocket.

So the Pinterest page on the App Store says to go to the website help page to let them know how we feel about the latest update. Since that instruction is super vague and I can’t find a simple feedback form to fill out, this will have to do. I usually don’t bother writing feedback for updates, even ones I dislike, but this latest one drives me batty. I get that Pinterest is now very largely about advertising, but I hate that my own personal boards and page now feels like an advertisement. When I click to view one of my saved boards, instead of going to my saved pins, it now directs me to a “more pins you might like” page first. I HATE it. Yes, I know I can click a button to look at my saved pins again, but Pinterest no longer feels like a cosy journal, or a drawer of treasured collections, but a favourite book that’s always hidden amongst several advertisement catalogues that I have to push out of the way to open and enjoy. Mess with the homepage as much as you like, but please keep the incessant “more is more” advertising vibes out of my personal boards, or at least have an option to switch that element off.

I recently returned to using Pinterest after a long hiatus. Navigation of even basic functionality is totally unintuitive and frustrating. Pop ups get in the way of quickly navigating back and forth and take you to the album you just added an item to instead of back to the page you were just at. I shouldn’t have to mess around this much to do such simple tasks. It feels like a constant struggle against the app to find and save what you’re looking for. Today was the last straw. When you click on an image this stupid rainbow flash or gradient wave or whatever it is flows over the image top to bottom. I never had it happen before but it’s suddenly started and now has given me a migraine. All this pointless wave achieves is to obscure the user ability to LOOK AT THE IMAGE which as far as I’m aware is the entire point of Pinterest. This particular design decision is up there with google making their search tool worse to force people to do multiple searches thereby increase ad revenues. Except this is douchier and I doubt it has had a positive impact on profitability. Why would you ruin the barely functional platform with the addition of an annoyance which literally prevents you from doing the thing the app is for? Get in the bin.

I love pinterest and use it all the time but recently little bugs keep popping up and it’s annoying. Recently the menu area at the bottom disappears as soon as I click on a pin, so if I’ve clicked on quite a few based on the recommended section it’s difficult to get back to my home page or account. These bugs usually get fixed eventually but I’ve been noticing them pop up more and more in the last few months and they’re taking longer to be fixed.update this was semi fixed still happening, but honestly every update is just making the app worse and worse they keep consistently taking away good aspects and adding bad ones, like the most recent so now when you click on your board it instantly shows you recommendations, i want to see my board?? and you can’t select the first letter of your board on the alphabet on the side anymore when pinning something. i genuinely don’t understand why these changes would be made it makes no sense to me

I've used Pinterest for years and generally really enjoyed it. HOWEVER, I wish I could turn off entire categories of ads in feed eg all cooking ones, all meat ones ( as a vegetarian), all clothes ones ( as I don't care). Even worse now is recent move to make it a condition for you to enter your birthdate. Trouble is I am atypical for my age. I now get ageist jokes which bother me, ads for products I never use, concerns about health I don't care about. I'm young at heart and not stereotypical in taste. I like leading edge stuff not traditional interests. I know I'm not the only one as retirees today were the hippies in their youth. Many of us still have that attitude. I'm wondering what I'm missing now in my feed because some algorithm has decided I wouldn't be interested.There has been much discussion in how much info companies REALLY need about you with all the identity theft around. So is birthdate really necessary. I am person not an age. Even if they are fixed in asking a year, do they need to store the month and day of birth.. does the month or day change my preferences???
