This update introduces four major improvements to Darkroom, enhancing the workflow, design, precision and range of our tools: 1. Bringing our Liquid Glass design update from iPhone to Mac and iPad 2. Revamping our white balance tools to make them more accurate and useful, including a new Auto Balance feature 3. A completely new Curves tool, with unrestricted adjustments and new HSL curves 4. A new photo strip in preview mode that includes our Flag and Reject workflow features, making them much more accessible and efficient The iPhone was recently updated with a fresh coat of paint, adopting the latest design guidelines for Liquid Glass. This update brings that same fresh coat of paint to Mac and iPad, ensuring that the app feels at home on the latest versions of iPadOS and macOS. The new Curves tool has two major updates: 1. Unrestricted point adjustments. By default, points along the curve are fixed to their track as before, but you can now drag horizontally to unsnap points and adjust the curve with greater freedom. Points on the curve also float unless you adjust them manually. This makes it much easier to create natural, smooth curves with greater creative freedom. 2. We have added several new curves, including Saturation vs Saturation, Hue vs Saturation and Luminance vs Saturation. These allow you to add a new dimension to your adjustments. This is particularly powerful for those who enjoy creating presets, as you now have a much richer set of tools for mimicking film effects or creating more interesting looks that were not previously possible in Darkroom. The new White Balance tool adds a colour picker and an Auto mode, making it easier to correct an incorrect white balance in your photo. Temperature and Tint have also been updated to provide a wider range of adjustments for correcting badly exposed images. This is particularly helpful for RAW photos, where it can be easier to take a photo with a significantly incorrect white balance setting. Finally, the new photo strip in the iPhone layout will feel familiar, given how similar it looks to the Photos app. It makes navigating your library while previewing images much more lightweight, and allows us to move the Review actions, Flag and Reject, into a more prominent position, making them easier to find and tap.

This update includes bug fixes and performance improvements to the editing experience. * You can now duplicate a mask without inverting it * Exporting a photo as a copy no longer adds it to the album containing the original * Improved mask control rendering so controls remain visible on white backgrounds * Improvements to monetisation flows to clarify trial status

Improvements and fixes - Fixed a commonly reported photo export issue where Batch actions or exporting from Library could produce incorrectly edited images, resulting in overexposed or underexposed output, or exports with no edits applied. - Fixed a UI glitch that could appear often when opening the Frames tool, or when double-tapping a slider handle to reset that specific adjustment. - Improved the import experience end to end. Fixed bugs that could cause imports to stall or even crash when importing large photo batches. - Fixed an issue on macOS where importing photos by Drag and Drop into Library did not work correctly.

Fixes - Fixed rendering glitches caused by Clarity when exporting RAW photos from your Library or using Batch Actions, so your exports are consistent and accurate. - Fixed a thumbnail issue where RAW+JPG photos could appear overexposed or underexposed after edits, so previews match the adjusted photo.

Extended Metadata now goes beyond viewing. Darkroom+ subscribers can edit key photo details directly, from capture date, time and location to deeper camera and lens information stored in EXIF metadata. • Export quality and consistency improved across masks, clarity, colour grading, curves, and framed or cropped images. • Fixed issues with the Histogram showing inaccurate spikes, causing the clipping indicator to appear. • Improved video controls so they remain visible while working with videos. • Fixed duplicate Window menu items and improved command handling. • Fixed crashes related to shared preset links, closing the editor, generating preset thumbnails, and working with masks.

Fixes and improvements in this version: - Clarity now works correctly with Masks. Previously, using Masks could stop Clarity being applied as expected. - Batch editing is now more reliable with Masks. Exporting multiple photos from the Photo Grid after editing in batches should no longer fail or behave inconsistently. - Reduced memory usage when exporting RAW photos, helping exports run smoother, especially with large files or multi-photo workflows.
