This update introduces four major improvements to Darkroom, enhancing the workflow, design, precision and range of our tools: 1. Bringing our Liquid Glass design update from iPhone to Mac and iPad 2. Revamping our white balance tools to make them more accurate and useful, including a new Auto Balance feature 3. Introducing an entirely new Curves tool, with unconstrained adjustments and new HSL curves 4. Adding a new photo strip in preview mode, including our Flag and Reject workflow features, making them much more accessible and efficient The iPhone was recently given a fresh coat of paint, adopting the latest design guidelines for Liquid Glass. This update brings that same fresh coat of paint to Mac and iPad, ensuring that the app feels at home on the latest versions of iPadOS and macOS. The new Curves tool includes two major updates: 1. Unrestrained point adjustments. By default, points along the curve are fixed to their track as before, but you can now drag horizontally to unsnap points and adjust the curve with greater freedom. Points on the curve also float unless you adjust them manually. This makes it much easier to create natural, smooth curves with greater creative freedom. 2. We have added several new curves, including Saturation vs Saturation, Hue vs Saturation and Luminance vs Saturation. These allow you to add a new dimension to your adjustments. This is particularly powerful for those who enjoy creating presets, as you now have a much richer set of tools for recreating film effects or creating more interesting looks that were not previously possible in Darkroom. The new White Balance tool adds a colour picker and an Auto mode, making it easier to correct incorrect white balance in your photos. Temperature and Tint have also been updated to provide a wider range of adjustments for correcting badly exposed images. This is particularly helpful for RAW photos, where it can be easier to capture an image with an incorrect white balance setting. Finally, the new photo strip in the iPhone layout will feel familiar, given its similarity to the one in the Photos app. It makes navigating your library while previewing images much more lightweight, and allows us to move the Flag and Reject actions to a more prominent position, making them easier to find and tap.

This update includes bug fixes and performance improvements to the editing experience. * You can now duplicate a mask without inverting it. * Exporting a photo as a copy no longer adds it to the album the original was in. * Improved mask control rendering so they stay visible on white backgrounds. * Improvements to monetisation flows to make the trial state clearer.

We have refreshed the UI throughout with the latest Liquid Glass look introduced in iOS 26 and refined for iOS 27. It looks lighter, feels more immersive, and removes lots of small bits of friction across the app. * The library interface now features a beautiful Liquid Glass tab bar, making it easier to move between albums and your Recents. * The sliders and tool area have also been refreshed, with lots of fine details sprinkled throughout. * Library photo grids can now be resized with Fit and Fill modes (try pinching with your finger to resize the grid). * We’ve updated the AI model used to generate Depth masks, so they now have much higher fidelity and accuracy than before. * Depth, Luminance, and Colour masks now have a new Range tool with customisable falloffs, so you can make more accurate, refined selections. * Many small details and refinements to make the experience beautiful, polished, and compelling. Extended Metadata now goes beyond viewing. Darkroom+ subscribers can edit key photo details directly, from capture date, time, and location to deeper camera and lens information stored in EXIF metadata. • Export quality and consistency improved for masks, clarity, colour grading, curves, and framed or cropped images. • Fixed issues with the Histogram showing inaccurate spikes, which caused the clipping indicator to appear. • Improved video controls so they remain visible while working with videos. • Fixed duplicate Window menu items and improved command handling. • Fixed crashes related to shared preset links, closing the editor, generating preset thumbnails, and working with masks.

Fixes and improvements in this version: - Clarity now works correctly with Masks. Previously, using Masks could stop Clarity being applied as expected when exporting in batches. - Batch editing is now more reliable with Masks. Exporting multiple photos from the Photo Grid after batch edits should no longer fail or behave inconsistently. - Reduced memory usage when exporting RAW photos, helping exports run smoother, especially for large files or multi-photo workflows.
