PlantCalculator
配管・圧力容器の強度計算ツール
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
1.5.0 adds 13 operations calculations: steam tables, flow-meter P/T correction, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure drop, valve Cv, viscosity and combustion. Works offline.
Plant Calculator brings together calculations commonly used in petroleum refining
and chemical plant equipment inspection.
Start with a quick check: enter pipe size, schedule, material, pressure,
current thickness and years in service to review original wall, required
thickness, corrosion rate, remaining life and thickness margin.
From there, Plant Calculator also covers piping and pressure vessel thickness,
metal loss checks, pipe sizes, schedules, flange ratings and unit conversions
without jumping between separate calculators and tables.
Useful when you need to:
- Quickly check the condition of a line from basic inspection data
- Check required thickness for piping or pressure vessels
- Estimate corrosion rate and remaining life from thickness readings
- Organize thickness variation and local metal loss checks
- Look up NPS and schedules, check flange ratings, and convert units in the field
Features
- Quick Check: review original wall, required thickness, corrosion rate,
remaining life and thickness margin from pipe and inspection data
- Scientific calculator: trigonometry, logs, powers, roots, memory and EE input
- Unit conversion across 13 categories: length, area, volume, temperature,
pressure, mass, force, torque, flow, velocity, energy, power and angle
- Required thickness for piping/vessels under internal pressure
(JIS B 8265 / High Pressure Gas (KHK), ASME Sec.VIII Div.1, ASME B31.3;
cylinders, heads, straight pipe and elbows)
- Corrosion rate & remaining life from previous/current thickness and elapsed years
- Metal loss check: summarize average/minimum thickness and variation from
readings, with simplified checks for general and local metal loss
- External pressure: simplified allowable external pressure check for cylinders
- Nozzle reinforcement: area replacement method
- Relief valve sizing: required orifice area based on API 520
- Piping calculations: support span, pressure drop and velocity
- Vessel calculations: flange, bolt torque, flat plate, cone and support loads
- Thermal expansion from temperature difference
- Size quick reference: NPS to OD, wall, ID, volume and pipe weight
- Pipe dimension lookup: pick a size to see OD and wall per schedule (ASME B36.10M/B36.19M / JIS)
- Flange rating check: enter the rated pressure from your standard and compare with design pressure (ASME B16.5, etc.; rating table not bundled)
- Surface area: outer area of pipe, elbow and head (UT / coating estimate)
- Material list: temperature-dependent allowable stress reference values (based on HP-Gas example standards)
- Glossary for inspection/design terms
- Calculation history with CSV copy
- Japanese / English, dark mode
Important
This app is a supporting tool for design and inspection. Formulas are
representative, and allowable stresses, dimensions and ratings are approximate
reference values. Always verify against the official formulas and latest values
of the applicable codes (JIS B 8265 / ASME Sec.II Part D / B16.5 / B36.10M,
etc.) before making any decision. Do not rely on this app's results alone.
Ratings & Reviews

■ 13 new operations calculations
The app is no longer inspection-only — the calculations you run on the board and
in the field are here too.
- Steam table: saturation temperature, enthalpy and latent heat; superheated
steam and flash steam
- Flow-meter P/T correction for differential-pressure meters
- Gas flow conversion: Nm³/h ↔ actual m³/h ↔ kg/h
- API gravity & density, gas concentration (ppm ↔ mg/Nm³, O₂ correction, %LEL)
- Heat exchanger: duty, LMTD, U value and fouling factor
- Pump: NPSHa, shaft power, motor load, affinity laws
- Pipe pressure drop, control valve Cv
- Instrument scaling (4-20 mA ↔ % ↔ engineering units), motor load from an ammeter
- Combustion (O₂ ↔ excess air, fuel gas heating value), viscosity (SSU,
temperature interpolation, blending)
■ No more gauge/absolute mix-ups
Pressure inputs on the operations screens have a gauge/absolute toggle, so you can
enter the reading exactly as the instrument shows it.
■ "?" help on every screen
What the value is, a typical figure, and where to find it — now 192 entries. The
glossary is built from the same explanations and is searchable.
■ Menu grouped by purpose
With 38 features, the menu is now split into Tools / Inspection & Strength /
Operations & Process / Reference.
■ Also
- Fixed layouts that overflowed in languages with longer translations
- Fixed long result values spilling out of their row
- Fixed content being clipped when Larger Text is turned on
- Adjusted layouts for narrow screens such as iPhone SE
