Location services
To save power we use the "significant change" location service which will update the app occasionally when you are on the move. Opt-in to give the app access to your location. To use this service we are required to ask for the "Always"-permission. We do not send your location to our servers.

- Fixed the Places map collapsing large areas into a single pin — zooming in splits clusters into smaller ones again.
- Fixed pins merging away the first time you pan the Places map after opening it.

- The Places map has been reworked: it now opens framed to your own photos instead of a generic region, no longer gets stuck on a spinner if the network hiccups, and pins no longer shuffle or disappear while you pan and zoom.
- You can now rename your own albums directly from the album view, without going into a separate settings screen.
- Fixed a bug where some videos showed thin bands of another frame's image above and below the video.
- Smoother photo and video viewing: fixed occasional freezes, a rare hang when closing a photo, a one-frame flash when opening one, and an intermittent case where opening a photo from the timeline played the wrong animation.
- Albums and People now stay usable when you're offline instead of showing an error screen.
- Fixed album comment counts not updating after a new comment.
- Fixed the loading spinner not animating while your library builds.
- A gentle nudge now highlights the Edit button when viewing a photo, to help you discover photo editing.
- Buttons across the app have a more consistent look, with fixes for rendering under iOS's Liquid Glass style.
