Start an outdoor session and SolarWatch keeps your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island up to date with UV, vitamin D progress, elapsed time, and a gentle reminder when it may be time to head back in. Also new: terrain data now has a neat new home in Settings, and Health and widgets are better at keeping outdoor sessions in sync. And Solar AR is a bit more patient at finding true north before pointing at the sky, plus a bunch of small improvements.

This update adds a new local eclipse sky simulation. Tap an eclipse map pin to preview what you’ll see there, including the Sun and Moon positions, key contact moments, plus the time and peak eclipse conditions. Solar alarms now use the real terrain horizon for sunrise, sunset, elevation, and shadow-ratio alerts. You can also use rise and set controls to create custom elevation alarms that trigger only when the Sun reaches your chosen angle. Terrain horizon calculations are cached more intelligently, so terrain shadows and terrain-aware alarm previews load faster after the first run. Shadow maps also get a cleaner viewing option: you can hide the sun path compass whenever you want an unobstructed view of light and shade.
