This is a great app for dedicated musicians. It organizes music into categories, setlists, whatever. You can input info on different aspects (key, genre, composer, etc.). It's worksfor sheet music, chords and lyrics and pretty well anything you can capture in a PDF. It can scan or take a photo of a sheet of music, and quickly give you a PDF copy, often better than the original. You can annotate PDF pages, rearrange pages within a file. It will sync between different machines. For example, I can do most of my organizing on my MAC and have it automatically move to my iPad. I can take a setlist and in performance/rehearsal, with the iPad clipped to a mic stand, use a foot-operated scroller to unobtrusively scroll through pages. Perfect!

I tried to install this app on my Macbook Pro. When I tried to open it, it said it wouldn't open because it was damaged. After trying several different options given to me by a very helpful forscore techie, we finally gave up. Disappointing as I bought the app and have it on my ipad.

I'm not printing and juggling paper any more. I had multiple FAT growing binders to satisfy different venues I would play. Well, now its just one big digital library, and digital setlists. I also love the Sync capability, I prepare my music on my PC, add it to forScore, it syncs to my ipad and phone. Great I can annotate digitally on the song. Also bought a page turner pedal, which makes it easier to leaf through songs digitally, not having to lean forward and turn pages to get to a song. With all my songs at my disposal digitally, I am practicing more of them because of the convenience of getting to them more easily with the page turner pedal.

EDIT: I've removed one star, because although the iPad version remains rock-solid, the Mac app has really been crash-prone. I'd love to be able to use the Mac app to set up playlists and preview music at my desk before I go to rehearsals - but it seems to freeze and crash constantly. I've had to delete the ForScore library (on the Mac) and start over several times. Currently, I'm encountering a bug where simply turning pages is enough to cause a crash.ORIGINAL review:I've been using forScore since the very first release on my 1st-gen iPad back in early 2010. I never show up at a gig or rehearsal without it. Combined with the Apple Pencil, Airturn foot pedals, and AirDrop to share scores with other musicians - it's pretty close to perfect. Better yet, forScore has never charged me again for a new version, despite all the improvements and additional functionality. And, now, a Mac version - so I can easily AirDrop a score I'm working on to my computer, and see it on my large monitor in 2-page mode while I record or rehearse. Brilliant. Thanks, forScore!

Set list page turns and multi tabs very buggy, as well as annotations. Page turns will stall out between scores added to a set list, as if you haven’t loaded multiple scores. Restarting the Mac fixes this problem, but really frustrating in rehearsal and workshop environments where you need to be working quickly. Accessing the top tool bar will bug out if you have more than one tab open. Annotation drawings will sometime disappear until you quit the program and restart it.

I swear with every update there's another thing that stops working with iCloud sync. Here's the thing about forScore - it's REALLY GREAT. But only if you're not using cloud sync or services. The second you add one, you'll be stuck in the neverending limbo of needing to manually reset titles, info and setlists. I know it's been a community issue for a while, so at this point I'm really not sure why it's not fixed. If this thing ran like butter, I'd recommend it to everyone! But as is, only if you really need something for PDFs in the cover band / theatre sphere

I bought it.....it worked....it stopped working....I contacted their "Support"....that doesn't exist or they just don't respond. I joined a FaceBook Support Group...my issue is all over that group. Glad I didn't throw away my binders full of my music....I am back to them after this failed attempt to automate that music in this Faulty App.

The potential seems enormous. Access to the library collection is unclear if no item was left active previously.Sharing across devices (iPad, MacGook) unclear.Using iMac to set up. (New ot iPad).Unclear how to separate loaded PDF files into separate clusters/folders.Many tutprial videos reflect older versions of your software.Do not plan to use until sorted out oniMac. Meanwhile Books does a great, simple job on the iPad.

La raison pour laquelle je ne conseille pas cette application sur Mac, c'est que depuis sept ans que j'utilise la version sur iPad, je n'ai jamais eu de problème à partir du moment que j'ai installé la version pour Mac les compatibilité entre les versions pour le rogna et les notations faites sur le iPad ne respectait plus les dimensions donc je me suis retrouvé avec des notes au travers des partitions directement sur la portée, plus rien ne fonctionnait étant donné que je suis professionnel et que j'utilise mon iPad, pour toutes mes partitions, ce fut une grande déception pour la version pour Mac !

Never syncs anymore, no support responses any more and YES I have the Pro version. Why?? You got me.I continually have to reset syncing. It sync for one day then that’s it. Now with an update to fix bugs??? There’s more now then ever.Time to move to mobilesheets
