1 playful new brushes — Neon, Rainbow, Electric, Bubbles, Stars, Hearts, Pixie Dust, Confetti, Dashed, Arrow and more, sitting right below your everyday drawing brushes. More options — most brushes now have their own sliders (glow, spacing, scatter, wave…) so you can dial in the exact look. Every brush remembers its settings between sessions. A smoother line — added pressure smoothing, fixed a width "pop" on lift, and the eraser now keeps a stroke's brush intact. Every new brush is still fully editable, tweens between keyframes, and exports just as it looks.

This is a big one. Light Animator now takes you from idea to finished film, all on iPad. STORYBOARD MODE Plan your film before you animate it. Block out scenes as timed panels on a seconds-based timeline, sketch a rough idea in each, add caption notes, and play the whole thing back as an animatic to feel your pacing. Drag panels to reorder or retime, and export a printable storyboard PDF to share. THE FINISH ROOM A dedicated final-assembly stage. Your scenes are stitched into one continuous cut, shown on a large preview monitor. Storyboard panels hold as an animatic; scenes you have animated play their real frames, so you can watch your film come together as you build it. Arrange scenes, lay your music soundtrack over the top, and you are ready to export. MUSIC AND SOUND, DONE RIGHT A new project-wide Soundtrack lets you score the entire film at once, separate from each scene's own dialogue and sound effects. The Studio gives every track a full mixer: volume, pan, mute, solo, 3-band EQ, and fades. Import audio or record with a 3-2-1 count-in. You will also see the audio waveform right over your frames in the animation timeline, so you can sync action to sound. MAGIC WAND FILL Tap inside an enclosed area and fill it instantly: bucket-style coloring with smart gap-closing for hand-drawn lines. ONE PROJECT, THREE ROOMS A new Animate and Storyboard switch up top, plus the Finish Room, give every stage a clear home: Storyboard, then Animate, then Finish, then Export. What's New — light Craft 1.4.1 Text Tool — Scale & Rotate Fix Scaling or rotating a text object now pivots around the center of the full text block, not each individual letter's own center. Previously every glyph spun or scaled around itself, breaking apart words. A shared pivot point (the bounding-box center of the whole block) is now stamped onto every glyph path at render time. Text Tool — Selection Box Rotation Fix The selection/transform overlay now correctly follows the text when it has been rotated. The selection box was previously calculated without the object's current keyframe rotation, so it drifted away from the visually rotated text. It now reads the live rotation value at the current frame and passes it through to the bounds calculation, matching how multi-select already worked. Text Tool — Frame Pinning Fix Newly placed text is now pinned to the frame it was drawn on, matching the behaviour of freehand strokes. Text was previously defaulting to "persistent" exposure and appearing on every frame in the timeline. It now uses a single-slot hold exposure at the active keyframe, and can be extended to more frames via the Inspector as usual. Text Editor Popover — Background Alignment Fix The floating text editor card's glass background was rendering offset and detached from the card content. The root cause was a broken nested-background chain in the cardBackground implementation — SwiftUI was resolving the material layer at a different coordinate origin from the card itself. Replaced with the correct single-pass material idiom (.background(.ultraThinMaterial, in: RoundedRectangle)), which keeps the blur and tint locked to the card bounds. Text Editor Popover — Color Swatches Overflow Fix The color palette row was overflowing the 280 pt card width with large palettes (~15+ swatches). It is now wrapped in a horizontal scroll view, matching the existing behaviour of the font chip row. Text Editor Popover — Drag to Reposition The text editor popover can now be dragged to any position on the canvas. A grip handle (the pill at the top of the card) lets you reposition the popover when a tap near a canvas edge causes it to appear partially off-screen. The card snaps to wherever you release it and resets to its default anchor position for each new text placement.

What's New in This Version Big release — per-scene soundtracks, smarter keyframing, and more reliable exports. Scenes have their own Studio Every scene now keeps its own audio. Switch from Scene 1 to Scene 2 and the Studio swaps to that scene's tracks, clips, and recordings. New scenes start with a clean slate so you're not stuck inheriting last scene's soundtrack. Save and reload — every scene's audio rides along. Multi-scene exports finally include every scene's audio Exporting a multi-scene project used to leave Scene 2 (and beyond) silent. Now every scene's audio lands in the rendered video at the right moment, automatically lined up with the picture. On-screen Keyframe button A new K button sits right next to Play on the timeline. Tap it to drop a keyframe at the playhead for whatever's selected — no need to know the keyboard shortcut. Scaling after a keyframe works the way you'd expect Two related fixes for the Selection tool's corner-drag scale: Scaling a keyframed object now writes a real, animatable scale keyframe instead of silently distorting the object's rest pose. You can finally animate scale by setting up two keyframes at different sizes and letting the timeline interpolate. Scaling a keyframed object now pivots around the object's center, so it grows and shrinks in place instead of drifting toward the dragged corner. Your composition stays put. Existing projects upgrade seamlessly If you open a project saved with an earlier version, its audio is automatically attached to Scene 1 — nothing is lost. This update brings a brand-new Projects library, audio in your video exports, an in-app help system, and a long list of polish fixes across the editor. NEW - Projects library — tap "Projects…" in the file menu for a thumbnail-first view of every saved project. Search, sort, rename, duplicate, or delete from one screen. Save your current work as a copy, or save anywhere on your iPad or iCloud Drive via the Files app. - In-app Help — a question-mark button next to Settings opens a complete, searchable help system. Tools, timeline, exposure, holds, onion skinning, keyframes, symbols, audio, and keyboard shortcuts — all explained in plain English. - Audio in video exports — MP4 and MOV exports now include your full audio mix. Tracks, gain, pan, mute / solo, EQ, fades, and clip-level edits all preserved in the exported file. - Smart Quit — a new entry at the bottom of the file menu offers to save your work before leaving the app. - Onion skin on by default — new projects launch with onion skinning enabled, so the headline animation feature shows up from the very first frame you draw. IMPROVEMENTS - New Project now auto-fits the artboard to your screen instead of opening at native pixel size — no more double-tap-to-recover. - Picking a canvas preset like 4K also re-fits on Apply, so a new size lands centered the moment you tap it. - Arrow keys now always step the playhead by at least one frame, even when you've scrubbed past your last drawing — never a silent no-op. - Export filenames stay clean — no more "-muxed" suffix when audio is added to your video.
