Don’t trust agoda blindly and don’t get sudden surprises..

Worst experience ! Don’t trust on online bookings. I recently had horrible experience after booking hotel in agoda. Even after showing booking confirmation they simply said rooms not available. By trusting agoda and the hotel we travelled from Hyderabad to Thiruvannamalai, we were almost tired and reached hotel with a hope that we can take some rest..but it’s horrible, got simple rejection even after showing booking confirmation. They said will move you to other hotel which is almost 2.5 kms to temple and auto charges are 250 to 300 to reach temple, where our booking is near to temple and in a walkable distance..! How can you expect us to shift there and travel with 300 rs auto charges to temple..???. There might be miscommunication between hotel and agoda that should not impact us…with this incident we lost trust on online bookings..I suggest everyone to call the hotel after booking confirmation and then proceed, don’t blindly trust confirmations and suffer. After speaking to agoda customer support they simply said will give your refund, what the hell is this???? did I book the hotel to get last minute rejection and refund..don’t you even care of your customers ?? You should provide the same alternative if you reject in last minute..instead you simply saying will refund you! You made us to stay on road that day..I booked many hotels through agoda and finally you gave this treat to us!!! Never book again with you..hell!

I booked a hotel for 5 adults and 1 child and 2 rooms in Ooty, but at the hotel they said the booking has been made only for 2 adults, i.e., one adult in a room. Called up the customer care to just waste my 1 hour of my recreation time in the hotel and build in stress. The customer care executive- Shabana and her manager - Tanay, couldn’t help us a bit. They kept saying they need to take the approval of the hotel to add in the number of gustes and the hotel said they can do it only at a cost of 5-6k. Clearly, Agoda is a big scam. They have defects in their website, one second it shows something and the next second something else. We had to pay for the technical glitch in their system. Moreover, I checked the prices of the hotel rooms with 5 adults,1 child, and 2 rooms for the next weekend, and the prices were exactly the same we paid earlier. But neither Agoda nor the hotel was ready to understand. The customer care didn’t believe us when they said that we need to add the number of guests at the final stage of booked but there was no such option, all the details had to be given at the beginning according to which the website shows the availability and prices, and not vice-versa! Not just me, many people have said they’ve had bad experiences with Agoda, after I opened up with my experience to them.Never gonna recommend it to anyone, please don’t trust them, they’re a big scam and fraud, Id give it a 0/10, and lesser if there was a possibility.

Booked hotel through agoda, first it was difficult to contact agoda or owner (no authentic contact information was shared any where and it became difficult for us to reach there. Location link shared wasn’t correct, address says Shyam plaza but hotel was in Shyam arcarde, few mins away from shyam plaza. Location link ended at wrong place. Also the hotel was in the name of Hotel Anand but Agoda page shows “Oyo flagship Hotel Bhaskar”. We reached late in the night, the reception person claimed himself as owner and said we no more accept online booking and we have discontinued subscription from agoda as they don’t pay us. After wasting an hour and after telling him that we have made the payment he still denied that he won’t accept our booking. I had to tell him that I’ll call police if you won’t allow in middle of the night we can’t go anywhere then finally after few back n forth, he agreed. Rooms were not at all clean, bedsheet, Washroom wasn’t clean again (he gave us 1st room that had no lights in washroom n the after requesting him that we won’t b able to use it without light he gave us this untidy room) agoda should do verification of such property before listing on their page. As a customer, no contact information, incorrect location link and not accepting our booking even after advance payment gave a overall a pathetic experience.

Agoda repeated commitment failures for room reservations

HelloIt was very disappointing and nightmare experience for hotel bookings made thru Agoda and that too in repeated manner..We family together (including small children) booked the hotels in Haridwar (30-sep-23) and Rishikesh (01-oct-23) as per Agoda’s payment terms and got confirmed room reservations however hotel from Haridwar demanded 100%advance (against Agoda payment terms pay at hotel which means 0%advance), in response we informed that it’s confirmed booking and we will pay you at hotel.. hotel staff did not honour and not waited for us.. we had to stay at another place Next day, as precaution we made calls to Agoda as well hotel to reconfirming the reservation (here 100% advance made online) and got reconfirmation .. however when we arrived at hotel at night for check in they refused for room reservations and informed that due to overbooking they can provide the room Now imaging at night with family and small children, we had no good option to select and inspite of requesting hotel staff they refused and very rude manner.. I had to search by walk in to get the small room (not even at decent hotel) at very higher rate … it was horrible and nightmare experience for us .. when we made complain to Agoda customer care and request for actions against hotel property and suitable compensation but in response Agoda only conveyed apology without any road map for how our concerns will be addressed????? It’s really disappointing to see such and response and failure in commitment by Agoda and associates partners ….not at all recommended..
