Ill tell you the catch. So when you start the booking, all you’ll understand is that you’ll be getting a refund that too x3 times the amount you’re paying. That is where you fall victim: So suppose you’re paying 505/- for a ticket, you think you’ll be getting 1515/- in return if you don’t get a confirmed ticket. Now, when you go up and look more into it, they will charge you extra you’ll see they have different returns(if even) for bus,train and flights. Here particularly im talking about a train ticket, they ‘claim’ to assure x2 returns for trains, so they’ll charge you extra 505/- for availing that particular feature which makes is 1010/- (+taxes). Now if your ticket is on the same waiting list for example while booking it was WL12, and on the day of booking it is still WL12, only then you will be getting the x2 returns (without taxes) in your original payment mode BUUUUUUT BUT BUT BUT BUT in the form of a COUPON only *that too valid for 7days only* meaning, if you don’t travel within those 7 days(which people usually don’t) you lose the coupon aswell. So you paid 505/- plus another 505/-(for the so called feature) just to know that you’re scammed if you don’t get a confirmed ticket(which usually you won’t) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND to top it off…. if it even comes down to WL11 from WL12, if it changes even a bit you don’t get anything.

No good for Tatkal bookings

You will not be able to book confirmed Tatkal bookings through this App when the booking windows open a day prior. No fact after doing the whole process and making the full payment, the app books waitlisted tickets in stead of confirmed tickets even though there would be available when the payment is made. Then if you cancel you tend to lose cancellation changes of the railways, convenience charges and also platform booking charges. Another issue is when a WL ticket is cancelled by the railways NCR chart is prepared. The refund does not show on the App balance and the money takes time to come back. Meanwhile since the amount does not show in the App wallet you cannot use it for another booking. So once again you have to pay. Lastly what is surprising is that when you visit the official railway site to book any ticket it automatically directs you to this app to book. Seems that railways are in cahoots with this app or this app is beating the system. Just my observations.

This app is somewhat useful to track your train, Alternative booking ideas and to check your PNR. For ticket booking you should use IRCTC app only. Especially this app is bit risky to book tatkal tickets. You need 2 IDs. 1) confirmtkt 2) IRCTC. When you are done with filling details and going forward to pay and book, they will ask you to pay first. Then they will ask you to enter password of your IRCTC. In between if IRCTC will be full with the bookings you will get WL ticket. Moreover sometimes they introduce us with an error that says “something went wrong, please try again”, in this case Confirmtkt has your payment already and IRCTC didn’t allow them to book a ticket behalf of your ID and your payment will be refunded in 20min of booking failure to your confirmtkt wallet. Now if you do not have enough fund to book tickets you will have to wait for wallet refund and in between tatkal will be full. Now if you want your money back it says 5-7 working days to refund in your used financial instrument. And for this you have to ask withdrawal from confirmtkt app. Better to use this app for searching and for booking IRCTC app is best and safe…R
