Three questions, one character Every character is now built from three answers: where do they stand (Role), who are they (Archetype), and what do they do (Story Function). Protagonist · Mentor · Threshold Guardian tells you more in three words than a paragraph of notes. A catalog that teaches as you pick Every role, archetype and story function comes with a plain-English definition and examples from films you know — so you're not guessing what a Shapeshifter is, you're seeing Petyr Baelish and Gollum and deciding. Suggestions that know your cast Pick a role and ScriptBuilder surfaces the archetypes and jobs that actually fit it, rarest and most specific first. The ones that don't fit step aside — and tell you why, so nothing disappears without explanation. New jobs for your opposition Rival, Pursuer, Puppet Master and The Authority join the story function list. Leads gained Active Protagonist, The Investigator and Catalyst Lead — because "protagonist" was never one thing. Color-coded at a glance Roles, archetypes and story functions each carry their own color and symbol, from the cast list all the way into the picker.
