Go take a walk: there’s more to enjoy than just the scenery and fresh air. In location-based game Pikmin Bloom you channel the energy of your steps into growing Pikmin seedlings and earning badges.

The game supports syncing with the Health app, so go on, discover the many ways to enjoy a lovely stroll with your Pikmin buddies.

Plant a seedling in an available slot, and walk around to help it grow. Different seeds require a different number of steps to bloom: a red Pikmin grows after 1,000 steps, and a purple Pikmin needs 3,000 steps to blossom.

Once your Pikmin are harvested, they’ll be added to your collection, and you can then send them out on expeditions for more seeds. Growing and collecting the many different types of Pikmin is all part of the fun.

When Pikmin are fed nectar, a flower will bloom on their head. You can pick it and, as you walk, flowers will bloom on the in-game map of your real-world neighbourhood, adding brilliant colours to the world.

There are buds that can be found all over the map; when enough flowers are planted, they’ll bloom into extra-big ones, which earns you more rewards.

Complete certain objectives, such as walking a total number of steps or successfully growing yellow Pikmin, to level up. As your level increases, you’ll unlock new types of Pikmin to add to your ever-growing collection.

You’ll also be able to access more ways to play, such as the Mushroom Challenge, where you must defeat the giant mushrooms that appear all over the map!

Pikmin Bloom has a lifelog feature that not only records the number of steps you’ve taken each day, but also your walking route and the number of flowers you planted. To really personalise this journal, you can also add photos or text notes.

The lifelong screen is also where you’ll find stickers of the Pikmin you collected and the flowers you planted that day, adding colour and meaning to the days spent with your Pikmin.
