Siri AI and exciting new Apple Intelligence features are here! - See a film or TV programme, or even a whole list of them, in an image or while browsing social media? Ask Siri to add them to your Cinephile library. This works with both text and images. - Search using natural language, such as "90s comedies with Jim Carrey", and Cinephile will run a smart search for you. - There is a new "For You" section on the search and discovery screen, offering recommendations based on media you have watched and rated highly. - You can now enter a prompt for the on-device LLM model, which is completely private and never sends any information off your phone, describing what you are in the mood for. For example: "A cyberpunk film similar to Blade Runner". The algorithm will match you with suitable titles. You can then play a swipe mini-game, similar to Tinder, to decide what you like or dislike. Please note that these new features require an AI-capable device, and some also require a Premium membership.

This update brings several improvements: - You can now edit a film’s runtime. - You can now edit episode air dates and times. - The “Where to Watch” section now clearly distinguishes between free, paid and subscription content. - On the actor details screen, you can now see the number of episode appearances in TV series. - In the Home queue, film sections now show the total runtime remaining to watch. - Covers, posters and logos can now be changed using a single “Change Artwork” button. - The iOS 27 search bar has been visually improved. - Improved iCloud performance when launching the app. - Fixed an issue where the Apple Watch companion app did not load images for some users. - Full Greek localisation.

Actor statistics have been completely revamped to show something a little different and more exciting. There’s now a dedicated screen for all your favourite actors, and you can navigate directly to an actor’s details screen from here. There’s also a new toggle for most statistics, allowing you to choose between your entire library or watched items only. Previously, all statistics were available only for watched items. For example, you can now see an actor’s appearances only in items you’ve watched, or across your entire library, regardless of status. The app has been fully localised into three new languages: Polish, Hungarian and Ukrainian. I’ve also fixed a bug that was affecting the Interactive and Static modes for pie charts on the Stats screen.

This update completely overhauls the Home screen, giving you almost limitless customisability! - Want to add a collection to your queue? Check! - Want a different layout for each section? Go for it: use a grid for one section, a list for another, and so on. Check! - How about a different animation when you complete a season finale? Check! - A dedicated Rewatching section for films and shows you are watching again? Check! - A banner carousel at the top showcasing everything you are watching? Check!

This follow-up patch fixes a bug introduced in the previous version, which caused the keyboard to close immediately after entering text in the search bar. The Home cards for films and episodes have also been redesigned to provide a more consistent experience across all layout options.

And there’s more: - When newly released films are announced for a digital platform, you’ll now see where and when they’ll be available on the film’s details screen. You can even choose to be notified when they’re released. - When using the compact list layout, you’ll now see not only how many episodes are left, but also how much viewing time remains.

- Added a "Watching Now" option that starts a timer based on the film or episode runtime, along with a corresponding Live Activity and widget intent. - Abandoned films now include more information. You can set how far into the film you got before giving up, and that partial viewing time contributes to your watch time statistics. It is also permanently recorded in your watch history, so you can see not only when you abandoned the film, but how far through it you were. - Rewatching a film no longer means you have to record the rewatch immediately. You can now send the film to "Up Next" or "For Later". If you choose "Rewatch Now", you can record the rewatch straight away as before, or start the "Watching Now" timer. - The rating and review sharing card can now be shared directly from the summary prompt that appears when watching a film. - Fixed an issue that prevented one-letter searches. - Fixed an issue that prevented metadata being fetched again for shows whose episode count had changed on TMDB.

This update brings two highly requested features at once: metadata for TV networks and production studios. Each comes with its own new statistics, smart collection filters, grouping options on shelves, and more.

This update brings an exciting new sharing feature. After watching an episode, you can select your favourite thumbnail from the shots featured in the episode and create beautifully designed sharing cards showing your episode rating, favourite character and chosen thumbnail. There are also the following improvements: - Changing thumbnails, covers and backdrops is now available to all users, not just Premium users. - When marking a season finale as watched, you’ll be asked whether you’d also like to rate and/or review the series. - Added an option in Settings to choose whether watched items in shelves and collections display their watched date or release date. - Added filters for films and TV shows to the actor details screen. - Added more theme colours. All theme colours are now also available for the colours assigned to films and TV shows. - Improved the Favourite Actors and Favourite Genres charts in Stats, increasing the limit from 20 to 100. - Fixed an issue where films with digital-only releases were displayed as “In Theaters”. - You can tap your own or someone else’s profile picture to zoom in. - Added support for importing from Refract.

This update brings lots of great improvements! - Ratings throughout the app will now follow the colours of your chosen rating tiers. These colours can be fully customised in Settings > Rating Tiers. This is optional, of course. If you would rather keep the app's consistent theme colour for ratings, you can opt out on the same Settings > Rating Tiers screen. - Search results are now available for film franchises. Try searching for "Avengers" or "Cloverfield" to see the franchise collection in the results! - The actor/director details screen has been completely redesigned to show more meaningful results. You can now also filter and sort the results.

This update adds popular data import options! You can now easily import your data from Letterboxd, Sofa Time, and TV Time’s official data. When importing the latter, you can also bring in comments you shared in that community! Plus, enjoy lots of quality of life improvements, including the ability to hide an episode thumbnail until it’s watched, and automatic translation when replying to comments in the social feeds.

You can now choose your top 10 favourite films and shows to display on your profile. The ‘Releasing’ and ‘Timeline’ sections have been improved. You now have more control over what you see here, and digital releases will show for films too, not just theatrical releases.

This update introduces a TON of improvements. Here's a breakdown of some highlights: - Navigation in threads continues to improve. This update should start making the community section really feel more like a vibrant social media feed, with much better navigation, and better handling of the feed (no more having my welcome post always appear when sorting by popularity). This "popularity" has been relabeled to "trending now", and takes other things into account beyond just likes and comments. It also refreshes daily. My welcome post, and any future announcements I'll want to make, will appear as a dismissible pinned post that you can eliminate after seeing it once. - There are new options for keeping always the tab bar (not hide it when scrolling), as well as to have the rating prompt after marking something as watched appear automatically without having tap on the popup. Note that by default the popup is still on (I very much prefer it), but the automatic sheet presentation is now an option you can choose if you so desire. - Speaking of the popup, you can now do a lot more here, like mark as favorite, write a review, and VERY IMPORTANT, can navigate straight to the comments section form there to leave your two valuable cents. - The "Releasing" section in the Home tab can now be configured to show only releasing movies, shows, or episode releases (or all of course, that's the default). A similar fix has been added to the "Schedule" (which has been relabeled to "Timeline" to better convey the meaning of this screen). In the Timeline, for future releases (from today forward) you will only see relevant media (watching episodes, wishlisted / for later movies, etc), while going backward in time you will see everything, since it's a timeline of all releases in your library. - There are a LOT of privacy options now in your profile settings. You can now choose not just what to share, but WHO to share it with. - The app has been fully localized to Turkish and Arabic. - Fixed Trakt's sync problems that were introduced recently in a breaking API change on their end.
