LiDAR is supported. Please read the FAQ at www.hege.sh/faq for scanning tips, how to download your 3D models, how to enable Screen Sharing, Infinite Scanning and more
Create 3D scans using the 3D camera (FaceID or LiDAR) of your iPhone 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, XS, XR, X (and all their Pro/Max/Plus/Air variants) or iPad Pro! Export scans into STL, PLY, OBJ, USDZ, GLB (glTF), share them and more. On older devices, you can use the ordinary camera mode or the Screen Sharing feature.
This app is *PAID* up-front. Why is it free-to-download? To protect people with unsupported devices from buying it (more details at the end).
Heges is divided into two modes:
= 3D Scanner (**PAID**, requires one-time In-App Purchase)
============================
- Available only for iPhones and iPad Pros with the selfie FaceID (TrueDepth) camera and/or LiDAR sensor as an In-App Purchase (Why? Read more at the bottom.)
- Create 3D models by scanning everyday objects
using the selfie TrueDepth camera (FaceID) and/or the rear LiDAR sensor
- After scanning, export the models into PLY, OBJ, USDZ (all with colors),
STL, GLB (both without colors) file formats
- Share exported models e.g. via built-in Wi-Fi server or
view them in the iOS Files app
- Use the physical volume buttons to toggle scanning session
- Double-tap anywhere in the live camera view to Share Screen with another iPhone/iPad,
so that you can better see what you're scanning
- View the models in AR
- You can scan in pitch-dark environment and use Heges as a night vision camera!
- Choose from the available scanning precisions — the higher
the precision, the shorter the scanner range
- To get the most accurate scans, you must use the selfie FaceID camera with 0.5MM Precision settings; do not use LiDAR if you need accurate scans
- The selfie FaceID camera is much more accurate than LiDAR (approx. one order of magnitude),
the models in the promo videos were scanned using the selfie FaceID camera of iPhone X
- Use the selfie FaceID camera for scanning fine details (up to 2 millimeters accuracy with FaceID and 0.5MM Precision settings)
- Use LiDAR for scanning large areas (e.g. houses, hallways, rooms, etc.), LiDAR is NOT suitable for scanning small objects with detail — use the selfie FaceID camera for this purpose
- Objects in scanner range are highlighted in the live view
- Switch to the passive Night Vision where there're no
explicit restrictions on the scanner range
Instructions for the 3D scanner:
- Move slowly when scanning
- Make sure that most of the captured scene is within
the scanner range
- Please read the FAQ at https://hege.sh/faq
The scanner isn't perfect and can fail when moving too fast or scanning a challenging environment (e.g. glass surfaces cannot be captured due to the nature of the TrueDepth sensor).
A NOTE FOR iPHONE 13 (and newer) users: Beginning with the iPhone 13 lineup, Apple introduced a new TrueDepth (FaceID) camera design, which produces (slightly) lower-accuracy results compared to older devices.
To get best scan accuracy, consider using any iPhone 12 or older with FaceID.
= Color camera mode
============================
- Available for all devices
- Manual camera focus
- Sharing photos via built-in Wi-Fi server
= Why don't you make the app paid on the App Store? Why the annoying In-App Purchase?
============================
It's for protecting people with unsupported devices. (I wish I could make it paid directly on the App Store.)
Heges needs the 3D-sensing selfie FaceID camera to capture 3D scans. But not all iPhones/iPads have the FaceID camera, so the app needs to check if your device has FaceID before it allows you to buy the app.
The App Store does not allow developers to check if your iPhone/iPad has FaceID, so the only way to check is if you download and open the app. Once you open Heges on your device, it will check if your device is compatible and if isn't, then you will not be able to buy it.

The scan is not smooth, EM3d has better result. This one is like scandy pro. The result is pixelated. Even you have control to the resolution unlike em3d, still em3d has better result. You need to update this for iphone 13. Update: im still not convinced. Yes, heges are smoother because it can adjust resolution like scandy pro to 0.5mm. However, in heges, once you already scanned a certain angle, and you move to another angle, the smoothness of the previous angle becomes distorted. I can send you the screen shot what im talking about. For example, if scanned the top of the nose,the scan was smooth,until when i move downwward to scan the small holes of the nose,the top of the nose will become distorted. And if you change the angle to the top again to correct the scan, the two holes of the nose will be distorted again. And back and fort. Kindly check that. And yes, i tried to open in third party 3d model viewer, i found more dots in heges (meaning more details) than others, however, there is an issue while moving to different angle as the have explained above. It become distorted/pixelated.

Hi, what you wrote is not true, I got a proof. Heges produces way smoother and more accurate meshes than em3d; ➡️ see the comparison screenshots at the bottom as a proof, I made them just for you (I used an iPhone 13 Pro to capture the scans).UPDATE: I do not get any holes in mesh when scanning my face, see this screen recording: https://youtu.be/N3fZSvLyhKMIn Heges, you have to switch to the 0.5MM Precision settings to get the best results. I assume you either used LiDAR or didn't switch to the 0.5MM Precision. Please see the FAQ at https://hege.sh/faq to learn how to use Heges to its full potential.Regarding your note about "pixelation": 3D meshes do not have any pixels, so I am not sure what you meant. But I assume are referring to the look real-time scanning preview? This is irrelevant to the quality final PLY/STL mesh. Please export into PLY/STL and then see the mesh quality.I am not sure why you said that Heges' meshes are not smooth, but I guess you meant that the **rendered** mesh does not look smooth? I highly recommend that you use a third-party viewer like Meshlab to open a Heges-made scan made with 0.5MM Precision and em3d scan. This will give you fair comparison of mesh quality.Why in a third-party viewer? Because Heges and other apps likely do not use the same mesh **rendering** technique. Heges shows you how the "real", underlying mesh looks like. Other apps might give you a false impression about the smoothness of the surface, because they use normal data to artificially make it look like the mesh is smoother than it really is.I could have very easily also use normal data to make it look like the surface is extremely smooth, but I choose not to confuse my users and rather show how the real model looks like. When you use e.g. Meshlab on your computer to display both meshes with the same rendering technique, then you will see that Heges produces a much more smooth mesh with added detail.Here are two screenshots that compare the mesh quality of Heges and em3d in Meshlab — notice how Heges scans have richer details and are smoother:➡️ Face scan comparison: https://hege.sh/head.png➡️ A computer keyboard scan comparison: https://hege.sh/keyboard.pngYou can see a stark difference in the keyboard scan comparison.Please send me an email at support@hege.sh and I'll be happy to help you.All the best,Marek
Good Scanner

Worth the price! Had fun and used it on other models I scanned with without LIDAR on the iPhone 11, Although the model or 3d scan was okay, I used a 3rd party app to see the model properly and the results were pretty great!!!
