Look around before you sign up. The spot map, forecasts, the surf planner and a demo session now work without an account, and the app only asks you to sign in when something needs one: saving a spot, pairing your watch or going Premium. Whatever asked opens again once you are in. A new account with no sessions yet sees its empty lineup instead of a connection error, a failed Sign in with Apple now says why, and signing out also signs the pages inside the app out, so the next person on the phone never sees your favourites.

On the watch • Two live screen modes: Clean State shows one number, James Bond adds two slots — tide and its next turn, wind and when it swings, light left, swell period, water temperature on watches with a depth sensor, or whether the session is building or fading. • Last light: a tap 30 and 15 minutes before sunset, with or without a forecast. • Solo Check-in: after 20 quiet minutes the watch asks if you're alright; no answer in 3 minutes and your buddies get your position. With Water Lock on, turn the Digital Crown to answer. • Hold-downs are timed and set against the breath hold you train with BreakFinder Breath, and Recovery Breath guides your breathing afterwards. • Peak Drift: mark the peak with the new pin button, and the watch taps when the current carries you 25 m off it. The same button offers the way back to where you paddled out. On iPhone • The map keeps its scores and conditions across all sixteen days; scrub the curve and everything follows. • Search a region or country and the map flies there. • Nine languages, and the one you pick changes the whole app. • Signing out clears widgets, the map and notifications properly.

The forecast curve in a spot's sheet is now the control itself. Put a finger on Thursday's peak and the whole map moves with you — every marker recolours to that hour. It settles on the crest when you let go, the days are marked along it, and a double tap brings you back to now. Explore has four more places to go: book a lesson with a coach at your spot, buy and sell used boards and wetsuits, find the shops near a break, and share the drive out with someone heading the same way. The forecast now keeps working when the signal does not — you see the last one loaded, and how old it is, instead of an empty screen. And every page inside the app opens faster than it did.

The map is the app's own now. Every spot in view carries its score as a marker you read at a glance, and tapping one opens its forecast: the curve for the day, the window actually worth paddling out for, and swell and wind drawn as a single compass so you can see where the water is coming from. Drag the timeline and the whole map moves through the next sixteen days. Search a break by name, or narrow down to your favourites, a score you'd accept, or what's within reach. And the app on your iPhone now speaks German as well as English, following whichever language your phone is set to.

A start screen that answers what today asks: it leads with the session that just landed, with the conditions at your home spot, or with the swell on its way — and your own spots, scored and ranked, sit right underneath. Wave counts and ratings are yours to fix now, on the same 1–10 scale the website uses, and every session's rides draw its shape on the feed card. Explore has a search field, plus your journal and your year in waves. Share any session as a card, signal or no signal.

Every session in one place: surf, wind sports and skate side by side, each with its own numbers. New home screen widgets keep the tide, your ranked spots and the next incoming swell one glance away. Explore now leads with the Surf Planner, so working out where to go takes a tap. Your session's GPS track is drawn on a map, you can add photos and video to a session, and Premium bought on breakfinder.surf is recognised in the app.

Your session's GPS track now lands in Apple Health and Fitness complete — including the final stretch of the ride. Sensor recording keeps its data in order, so heart rate and GPS no longer go missing from a session, and the BPM tile says so when Health access is off.

Heart rate and calories are now recorded during your sessions, and each session shows up in Apple Health and Fitness as a surfing workout with its GPS route. Background recording is more reliable.

Refreshed session and summary screens, fixed rare freezes when ending a session, and made GPS track upload more reliable.

This update fine-tunes the wave detection algorithm based on real-session analysis: • Steep wave take-offs are no longer missed during GPS warm-up • Foam rides and barrel/tube rides are now reliably counted, even with unusual wrist orientations • Fewer false triggers after duck-dives and when GPS signal briefly drops • Better rejection of choppy-water noise that used to slip through as micro-waves • Improved accuracy on the first wave of every session
