I’ve been using Duolingo for like year and half now and I am not used to writing reviews but I thought this one someone could find useful. I think Duolingo is good for start (at least), you get basic knowledge of language through repeptition in different ways. Repetition is the most fundamental way of learning and remembering something. Yes, some languages are very limited and you get like A2 at most, some you get B2 but the main point is that you learn at least basics and you have something to work with. To learn language use other materials, don’t just use Duolingo, it is only one of many ways how to practice languages. For example among other languages I learn German on Duolingo, and am I fluent in it? No, I am not, but if I read something I have an idea what it’s all about, or I can talk slowly with limited words but still it’s something. That’s 100% more than I knew like 6 months ago and I got that from 15 minutes a day of practice. Yes, hearts are easily spent and that can be annoying, but to get unlimited hearts for few euros per month which I would spend anyways on some stupid stuff is not so bad. It’s my way of giving back to someone who have made and maintain the app and I get to learn anytime I want and how much I want. Overall it’s a good app

I genuinely like this app. It makes learning a new language really engaging with their everyday reminders and daily quests. I have been learning a language for over 8 months now and I can confidently say that I have learned a lot. However there are a few things that make my experience less enjoyable. Many people complain about the hearts. I personally don’t mind them as I see it as a challenge to do your best in lessons. With the new update, I found out a few small issues. The older version let me choose a lesson and I could see the progress I have made in every new lesson. Now that the layout has changed I have no idea what I’m learning and I have no choice just to go forward. Also the fact that my progress have been saved didn’t help me, as I haven’t yet finished some of the lessons and I have no option to learn it anew. Also I would appreciate an option to cancel a language which I don’t want to learn anymore and maybe adding a vocabulary or grammar rules to the mobile app. Thank you.

Partially I also do chess on Duolingo. But I also improved but there’s also one problem which is new as I am learning chess I win. I play a lot of games against Oscar and online and then I review them. The problem is when I review them it also says a good move blender and then you can improve. Highlight and when I do improve highlight I try I go I try to improve it. I make one mistake and it isn’t like normal chest lessons. Where? Where am I have three moves or four until it gives me the answer now I do one mistake or mistake click and then just give me the answer right away and I’m don’t learn that much until I try to. This is an awesome app I recommended it.
