This version comes with a few new improvements for PLUS users. – From now on you can copy the values of saved calculations back into the cost calculator. Once they are in, you work out an alternative quote in seconds – the existing one stays as it is. – If your new calculation is meant to become part of a new project, you can create that project straight from the calculation, instead of only picking one that already exists. – Your material costs profiles now show the real price per kilogram in their summary. Besides the improvements, I have also fixed a few small bugs that came in with the projects feature – some of which could even crash the app. I hope you enjoy the new version!

Starting with this version, you can bundle your saved calculations into projects – a new PLUS feature. You can add each calculation to a project in any quantity, and the project then adds up print duration, material weight, costs and profit margin for you. And of course a calculation can be added to as many projects as you like. Besides this new feature, I have straightened out a few things. Deleting now works the same way everywhere and asks before anything is gone – swipe or press and hold – and the profile lists show the most important values right under each name. With this update, there is now (almost) no limit: the maximum selectable print time has been increased to nearly 100 days—more than enough even for the largest print projects. Additionally, I have added support for Prusa’s OpenPrintTag standard. When creating a material profile, you can now scan your spools via NFC; the profile name and spool weight are automatically imported. Alongside these new features, the update also includes various minor bug fixes and new app icons. I hope you enjoy trying out the new version!

With this update, we’re taking PLUS together to the next level: you can now import your G-code files directly into the cost calculator – including the preview image (if available). The update supports various slicer formats, including PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, and Bambu Studio. You can also add images later to your already saved calculations. Spring is approaching, the days are getting longer – it’s time for another feature update of the 3D Printing Cost Calculator! Starting with this version, your calculations and profiles are automatically synchronized via iCloud across all your devices (iPhone, iPad, and Mac). This ensures you always have access to your latest data everywhere. In addition, all users can now enter extra costs – for example, for magnets or screws – to make their calculations even more accurate. PLUS users can look forward to a custom app icon, which is automatically applied the first time you launch the new version. Enjoy exploring the new update!

With this update, the 3D Printing Cost Calculator now supports iOS 26 and runs natively on Macs with Apple Silicon for the first time! The layout has been further simplified to put the cost calculator more in focus. The time selection is now displayed within the form, and most input fields can be cleared and refilled with a simple tap. PLUS users can also edit the titles of saved calculations directly in the list using a swipe gesture. Have fun trying it out – feedback is always very welcome!

PLUS is here! The paid package of additional features (optional one-time purchase, no subscription) lets you save calculations, use profiles, and gives you clarity about your profit. Use the save function to store calculations you've already performed and view them again at any time. With profiles, you can set standards for your parameters – such as your printer's operating costs or the purchase price of your filament – so you can select them in the calculator with a single tap. A new field in the calculator lets you set your desired profit, which will be factored into the price. And of course, I’m keeping my promise – the core functionality of the app remains unchanged and will continue to be available for free! This will remain the case in the future as well. Of course, I would still appreciate a small tip… ;)

A small error crept in with the last version, which will be fixed with this update.

With this version, the energy costs get enhanced with more input fields to calculate the operating costs of your 3D printer.

A new name for a new year: „krausgerechnet“ is now called „3D Printing Cost Calculator“. Happy New Year!
