Terrible app and company. Gave 5 stars so this won’t get buried. Chargers never work. Customer service nonexistent. Still on hold after 20 minutes. They can make sure $50 comes out but they can’t make sure their chargers work. Screen on the actual charger is useless, App is just as useless. Got sent multiple codes but for whatever reason they just didn’t work. Charger cuts off immediately after taking your $50. Find any other charger I cannot say that enough unless you want to be out of $50 for who knows how long and stranded.

Dear Customer, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We would appreciate more details about the app issue you've encountered, so our team can assist you effectively. Regarding the $50, it’s a preauthorization hold. You can find more info at https://www.chargepoint.com/drivers/support/faqs?t=45510. • Love the app and ChargePoint, new update needs some tweaks.

    getlukewarm

I love chargepoint stations and the app. The app and ChargePoint stations are always very reliable, and having a ChargePoint card in my Apple wallet is a great feature that speeds things wayy up. My only complaints are about the new app design that was just released. While very pretty to look at, and was clearly very well designed visually, it’s noticeably a bit less responsive on some interactions. I am also really missing the feature where if a location has multiple stalls at it, I could press “Notify me when any plug at this location is available” basically, I used to be able to click this button, and when any of the chargers became available at the location I was at I would get a notification. Now that functionality is gone, and I have to go through and press notify me on all of the plugs. Small inconvenience but it really did make a difference. There is also no longer an option to disable notifications for a spot either. If you guys could fix just those two things it would be perfect!! Still love ChargePoint :)

  • iPad app is fixed!

    * Ron *

My previous review was 1 star because most of the things I loved in the iPhone app were non-functional in the iPad versions. Every tab required logging in again. The Chargers and Activity tabs worked, as did the Route tab. Activity didn’t track the price of charges properly - when at all. This now works perfectly! The At Hope tab was a blank screen. It now properly shows my home ChargePoint Flex charger and all the settings. The Account tab was an endless loop in the last version that kept asking for me to sign in again, then would tell me I was already signed in. No account info! This issues has also been fixed! I have upped my rating to 5 stars because the app has been fixed and the developer has addressed each and every issue I had brought up to them. Thank you, ChargePoint!

Hello Ron, We appreciate your kind words and positive feedback.

  • Horrible As of Late

    genericseth

As other people mentioned, you HAVE to make an account and hand over all your data before you can even plug in for your first charge. Typical Silicon Valley behavior. Now, the last few times I went to my local charger station and scanned my Apple Pay, it kept giving me an error message like “multiple cards detected” (I only have one debit card linked to my account). So then I decided to scan my actual plastic debit card and they really hit me with a FIFTY DOLLAR FEE! For context I usually pay like five bucks max to charge my BMW i3.This is just ridiculous and downright predatory. Too bad the other EV charge companies do the same scummy tactics. Just another reason I regret purchasing an EV vehicle!

    Developer Response

Hello genericseth, we’re sorry to hear about your experience—unexpected payment issues and authorization amounts can certainly be frustrating, and we understand your concern. Please share your registered email address and contact details so we can review your account and assist you further with this.

  • Favorites Are Missing

    AlexeyOneLove

In the updated version 7.0.6 of the app, all of my saved charging stations have disappeared. This is a very important feature for me and for many other users who rely on saved favorites. For example, the building where we live has around 60 ChargeGo charging stations. Each resident has their own preferred charger saved in the app so they can quickly access it instead of searching through a long list.Since the update, all saved charging stations have disappeared from my account. Now I have to scroll through a list of 60 chargers every time just to find the one I use. Since we use the app every day, this has become a major inconvenience. Please bring back the ability to save charging stations as favorites. It was an extremely useful feature.Thank you!

    Developer Response

Hi AlexeyOneLove! Losing your saved charging stations after the update, and having to scroll through dozens of options every time, is a real everyday inconvenience. Thank you for laying out how you and other residents use favorites to jump straight to the right charger. We know this is a must-have feature for people who rely on the app day to day, and we are actively working to keep your saved stations accessible. We appreciate your patience as we improve this experience!

  • A few issues

    Tomasimo

I upgraded to the latest version of the app yesterday when I first tried to charge it complained that I needed a payment type saved, but I already had one saved. went to the next charger and that one worked. Since then, the app has sent me a notification twice to add a payment method but again I already have one saved. Also, when I was first charging yesterday in app, it wasn’t showing that charging was active, but in my Hyundai app it was. Eventually, it showed up in the ChargePoint app.

    Developer Response

Hello Tomasimo, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention regarding the app after the recent update, especially with the payment notifications and charging status. Your feedback is invaluable in guiding our improvements. For further assistance, please share the email linked to your ChargePoint account, or feel free to use the support options in the app. We appreciate your patience as we enhance your experience!

  • 7.0.5 update is a regression

    StubbornlyWrite

I’m not sure what happened with this latest update, but I’m not sure anybody asked users what they wanted. I don’t want to have to log in again every 24 hours. I don’t want Google Maps instead of Apple Maps. I want to be able to interact with individual station pins not one pin for a whole bank of stations. I want the app to remember my payment information and not nag me to update it even though my payment information is there. Overall, they took a pretty good app and made it garbage.

    Developer Response

Hello Write, Thank you for your insightful feedback. Our dedicated team is diligently working on the concerns you've highlighted and is focused on finding a solution promptly. Your patience and support mean a lot to us!

  • Be aware of App glitches. Set your own timer.

    fock this sheet

The app usually have a timer for you to keep track of how long you have been using the charger. With that said, at my location, after 3h you get charged $50 per hour. I trusted the app’s timer to keep track of my charging to avoid idle fees, but it had glitched on me. The timer had stopped giving me inaccurate info making me overstay and pay a higher fee :( besides that everything else works fine.

    Developer Response

Hello Fock this sheet, We’re very sorry to hear about the timer glitch and the unexpected idle fees you experienced. We completely understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when you relied on the app’s timer to avoid additional charges. To help us investigate and resolve this promptly, could you kindly provide the registered email address associated with your ChargePoint account. This will allow us to review the session details directly and ensure your concern is handled with urgency.

  • New app is not an improvement

    lizdurham

I’m disappointed by the recent update. I use the waitlist feature a lot, and have always been pleased with how well it works. In the new version, you can only access the waitlist through the map and not through your list of favorites/recently used. That makes the waitlist much less accessible. Also the new app is requiring me to log in anew every day. Cumbersome.

    Developer Response

Hi Team! Losing quick access to the waitlist through favorites or recent, and then having to log in again every day, is a big step backward from what you had before. Thank you for calling out these two changes so clearly, that feedback helps us see exactly what slowed you down. We are working to make the waitlist as easy to reach as it used to be, and we keep improving login reliability so it does not feel like a daily task.

  • Not working on Apple Watch

    Abby's Dad

The app works fine fine on my iPhone. It has worked in the past on my Apple Watch 7 and 9. I installed this on my new SE 3 and it will not open. Both watch and iPhone 17 Pro are updated to latest software. Restarted both, uninstalled and reinstalled on both. It still will not open on the watch. I can start a charge using the watch with the ChargePoint card stored in the wallet though.

    Developer Response

Hello Abby's Dad, Thank you for the details—I understand the app works on your iPhone and previously on other watches, but won’t open on your new Apple Watch SE despite reinstalling and restarting. I’m glad you’re still able to start a charge via Apple Wallet, though I know the app access is important. Could you please share the email address registered with your ChargePoint account and a contact number so we can assist further?
