This app at this price point is really good. I am transitioning my To Do (Appigo TaskFire) tasks, categories, etc. to MindNode. It is almost a replacement for my to do list and I love the representation of the nodes as it more closely aligns with the way I think. To make MindNode more useful, it would be nice to add custom fields to nodes, similar to tags, that could be assigned a value, either a number, letter or date, along with a feature to sort the nodes around the main node by those custom fields. For instance, nodes around a main node could be sorted by date or value and arranged like a clock, or vertical or horizontal, tree, or any other way, to give another view of the data and make it very useful information in some cases. The task node is useful, but would be even more useful if the node with the custom date field (on request) could be a repetitive task, like monthly, weekly, etc. and checking off the node would automatically increment the date field and create a new node at that date value. All in all, this is a well designed app that appears to be supported as of Sep 2025. Good job!

Mind Node is fantastic app. The interface is clean. The controls are intuitive. It is a great tool for getting your thoughts quickly down on “paper” and then dragging and dropping them into a better order. After iThoughts went away, it’s probably the best mind mapping tool out there, and I have tried them all. With that said, it could be even better with a few tweaks. In particular, I would love to see the developers add a bracketing function to link several siblings together, labeling them with a common thought or them. Xmind has this function (Called: Summary), and although I much prefer the look and feel of MindNode, this one improvement would be a game changer. Although I much prefer working with MindNode, Xmind also has the ability to put a labeled container around several nodes, which is also a very useful function for grouping ideas. Put those two features in an it would be a 5 star app. Another good feature, which iThoughts had is the ability to tout the cursor ein the middle of a long node, with the return or TAB button make a new sibling or child with the text to the right of the cursor. You can accomplish the same thing with cut/paste, but the extra steps this involves is a little frustrating.

MindNode helps me generate thoughts about everything from work projects, creative projects, presentations, major-problem-solving (I love the AI generation of content, which often can get me started, by the way!), and much more. The design is stellar, and there is everything at your fingertips to get your ideas out, organized, and beautifully rendered. Also, I love the ability to export tasks to my task manager, so that I can do the thinking once, and then start to act on the items in the app of my choosing. Did I mention the Apple Watch app, too? It is so handy when you have created a packing list and want to reference it as you roam around the house, packing and ticking off task items in MindNode for Apple Watch. Ideas on Canvas care, have a standard of excellent, and are around for the long haul. Get MindNode – you will be happy you did! well worth the subscription price, every penny of it.

As a long term Windows user, I was completely sold on MindNode as soon I was introduced to the Apple ecosystem and specifically, Mindnode. The ability to mind map fits so well with my thought processes and perhaps slight ADHD tendency? The ability to get thoughts quickly captured then shuffled, along with the real time sync across devices is huge for me. The glaring missing feature to date has been the ability to collaborate with my thought partners. Problem solved with MindNode Next! I have been using it since it came out yesterday with no issues. As I have multiple MindNode files for difference focus areas,I have been looking the Files > Open Recent drop down option. It may be tucked somewhere I am not looking, but if it is not the product yet, it would be a helpful addition.

I have used Miro, Obsidian Canvas, MindX, and many other apps that try to compete with MindNode and this app is far and above the absolute best tool for catching creative thoughts and has become an essential tool for almost every project I have (sketching out music pieces, brainstorming for my video game, directing a video, as a general learning tool, storywriting, etc.) pretty much anything where you want to hone in on key elements and strategies Mindnode excels at. the ability to switch from Outline to Mind Map is genius and with MindNode Next I can easily pick back up on my iPad or my mac or even both at the same time with seamless transition. Really could not recommend this tool enough for any creative professional.

I appreciate that my subscription isn’t going to waste, but this forced upgrade to a new version before it has parity with the version it replaces is frustrating, to say the least. There is so much missing in this new version. For example, my most common activity is making a copy of an existing mind node, which I can’t appear to do with this version. I also have many existing mind nodes, and there does not appear to be a way to migrate them in bulk. Once I migrate them, the new app does not appear to have a way to create any folders or organize them, which will mean everything will be in one large directory. And it appears that the “classic” version of this app is no longer available for download, which means that I am in trouble if I need to download it again before the new version catches up. I’m not against going to something new, but, in my opinion, this migration isn’t being handled well.

MindNode Next, in addition to being a great mind mapping tool, also fills a large void, that is the gap between ideas and implementation. My favorite feature and one of the primary reasons I chose MindNode over other mind mapping apps is it integration with Apple’s Reminders, soon to be a more thorough two way integration. It already sends task to reminders and helps to keep track of when they’re completed. Soon they will add any new task created in reminders to the related MindNode document. My only wish is that they add true flow chart capabilities to MindNode.

MindNode is an excellent app. It delivers on what it promises. Super functional and clean interface across the entire Apple Ecosystem. I love it.I didn’t give it the 5 out of 5 for two reasons. First, the price. Second, as of writing this there are a few minor superficial hiccups that coincided with adding separate “main nodes” inside of a project.An “Align Tool” that allowed you to select one node and then select a second node and “Center Vertical”, “Center Horizontal”, “Right Align” or “Left Align” the first node to the second would be a really great addition for me.Also, currently in the app, when moving a single node close to a large node tree / system that is built out, the app has an “unseen” proximity around nodes that seems to change depending on whether I am using my phone, iPad or Mac. When I open a project that was I was working on with my Mac on my iPhone, sometimes engaging with certain nodes at all with send the large system As a subscription based app, this seems like it could be a basic developer update / integration.I use the visuals as illustrations and anything that helps me get a clean visual easier is a win. This would bump me

Why did you break this fine tool? Why did you make it hard to go back to the version of the tool I’ve relied on for years? Why have I wasted ½ an hour right before a meeting in which I could’ve used a MindNode (Classic … is it?) to help explain why there’s a better way to go on the project? Why have I abandoned preparing for that meeting to complain that you broke one the most elegant tools in my kit, leaving me feeling betrayed, like showing up to find the locks were changed over the weekend. I don’t have time to track down *Classic* before my meeting; I only have time to scream *Argh!* (Is that the sense of delight you sought to create in longtime users?)

I understand the direction the developer is heading however there are undoubtably, a large percentage of the customer base who do not need collaboration (me included) and were perfectly happy with the Classic version. Especially considering how lacking in parity with Classic this release is. It’s also a shame (from a customers perception) that the efforts of the developer were focused on the development of Next for the past couple of years instead of enhancing Classic as that is what I was paying the subscription fee for. Unless Next has feature parity soon, I’ll stick with Classic and eventually begin the journey of evaluating the competitors products.
