Gotta say, I love the fact we can raise our own dragons and take them out into our world. I love the patterning on my dragon’s wings, and I wouldn’t change them for the world! And the noises the lizard make are pretty cool too. That being said, I do have one major problem with the app. The biggest thing I would love, love, love to see is some sort of battery save mode, similar to what Pokémon Go has. If I’m to have adventures with my dragon, I need to be able to use the app without burning the crap out of my phone and its battery. Otherwise, it’s not so much of an adventure if I can only use it for 2 hours MAX. Even an hour drains my battery down by 30%, and this is with an iPhone 12 mini. If not that, then maybe be able to send our dragon off while we have the app offline. I know it’s not much of an adventure, but having them explore on their own would be nice, especially if we’re on a time crunch or full schedule of work. They can collect food on their own and we can store it when they return. The second issue is minor, but, it bothers me when the app automatically assumes the gender of my dragon. It would be nice to either select a gender-based name (male or female) or something gender neutral after the hatching instead of having it picked for us. Because, in my mind, my dragon is female yet she’s referred to as male in game. Not a huge deal, but I’m just saying that even Westeros didn’t just have male dragons; there were queens too, and it would be nice to be able to put more queens into our world.

I got it early during comic con. It’s really cool to see your little buddy grow. But other than that there’s not much in this app. I’m a huge fan of dragons and the books and the show. That being said, there’s really not much to do in this app apart from feeding your dragon and teaching your dragon some commands. After your dragon grows that’s pretty much it. This app has a lot of potential. Would be nice to add mini games or missions in the future. Or even battling. But seeing that this app was developed by the same people who made the my Daemon app another AR app promo for another show, I highly doubt any updates will happen in the future. This app purpose is to promote the show. But I’m still hopeful that they will pay attention to this app and update it.

AR burns through my battery like dragon fire, causing me to only be able to keep my app open for five minutes at most before overheating my phone and crashing. There’s no actual tutorial either, it’s like “tap, talk, and feed” till your dragon learns one new trick for the day, come back tomorrow. Not to mention, to my fellow ASOIAF readers: the dragons do not breathe same color fire as their scales :( the dragons do look good though their limbs are super flimsy when “walking around” their surroundings.Dear Developers,Please give a toggle to turn AR off into a Westeros-like background setting would be extremely helpful, and a low graphics/power toggle too. As well as giving us audio settings as well, and signing up with a designated account because I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app then learned the hard way that i wasn’t getting my original dragon back, and had to say goodbye to the dragon I worked so hard to raise.

I love dragons and the a song of ice and fire world. It would be really nice if this game added anything more than the initial egg choosing and training process. I like the giving commands in Valyrian but it’s frustrating that I have to wait for the game to “teach” me them instead of being able to use whichever Valyrian words from the get go. The AR is really wonky and has my dragon clipping out constantly. It either needs some big improvement or the option to turn AR off and have a background generate. Also when I first loaded the game and chose my egg it bugged out to the point I had to close the app. When I reopened the app it had me choose eggs again, not having the colour egg I’d chosen before. Then when I named it the game chose a completely different and random name for my dragon. Would love for this to be a good fleshed out app with some ASOIAF worldbuilding and dragons in it.
