I really appreciate the break down in each area to give information on the WHY not just the how. It helps me understand the correlation between English and French as well as customs and history. This app I actually put above Duolingo as far as teachings go. Duolingo makes it fun to learn but doesn’t actually explain anything, it’s much more of a gaming experience so using both apps is helping it stick much more than just using one or the other.

I have not used this app for very long so I cannot provide an accurate review for this, (although so far it has been very good) but I would just like to report a little thing. In the first lesson of Class 2, there is a list of nouns to remember. However, in the ‘foods’ category, ‘la pomme’ is translated to ‘the father’, even though it actually means the apple, and the father is already in the list anyway. I am not complaining whatsoever, this app is great, I just thought it would be good to give a heads up to fix this, or else someone might be going on calling their father an apple. Thanks for your time!
Ads make app unusable

I downloaded and was able to use this app to complete 2 mini lessons. It seemed great as a language learning supplement and an excellent alternative to Duolingo. However, the free version requires ads (fine/expected). However, the ads are impossible to close, meaning the app is impossible to use. To get to the lesson, you need to watch an add, then the Ad screen is impossible to close out of/the “X” button doesn’t do anything. I closed the app and watched the add more than once! Effectively, no further French lessons are accessible :(. Do not recommend unless you want to commit to paying without sampling the app for more than a mini lesson. Beware, Ad purgatory!!
Only one issue for me

The app in itself is easy to use and I’ve had generally no problems with it before. On the other hand though, the hearts. There are five hearts and once you lose all of them, they take FOREVER to regenerate and do it all in one go so I constantly have to watch ads to get a SINGLE heart back. It’s just frustrating and I don’t want to wait 24 hours to get my hearts back and then immediately lose them in one lesson. Other than all of that though, I really do like this app because it has instructions and articles explaining things, as well as several different topics. I think they explain things a lot better than Duolingo did start with the actual basics instead of giving random words for you to learn and never use. I do recommend the app for beginners who want to learn and have a bit more patience than me lol. I think my rating is more a 4.5 stars because there’s really only one issue I have and it’s pretty small. Great app! I hope it gets more recognition in the future :)
