This game is worth subscribing to Arcade for. See, I'm a 46 y/o dude who played the first two games in the series in real time. I still remember how impressive they were for their time. Contemporary adventure games, like Sierra's, were all excellent too, but Monkey Island improved on them in leaps and bounds. The graphical user interface that replaced typing. The music score that seamlessly weaved in and out and changed to match the situation. The fact that you couldn't die (drowning notwithstanding). The fact that you could never get to an unwinnable situation where you forgot a key object in a previous screen. The games were bursting with originality and atmosphere. With Return we literally return to pick up where we left off. The game immediately puts you back in the post-final scene of Monkey Island 2 and kicks off from there. The game hits all the memory baits: locations, characters, music, it's all weaved into the new game. What a miracle to be experiencing this after so many years of that initial experience from my youth. I salute the team who made this game!
Amazing!

I usually don't like games where there are tons of dialogue; however, this game was so catchy and silly and sarcastic that it totally sucked me in within the first few puzzles. I played this game on an off for 5 ish days and couldn't put it down. The storylines are fantastic, and I appreciated that the dialogues could change the outcome in some ways. This was a "think outside the box" kind of game with puzzles that had you searching for a long time, but in a fun way. It allowed trial and error and had quirky phrases from all the characters involved. I seriously can't get enough of this game. I also appreciated that the clues had layers so it didn't make it too easy, unless you needed it. Well thought out and appropriately difficult at times and easy at other times. Seriously amazing! Great job! Thank you for creating it!
Nostalgic, fun, & funny adventure game great addition to an already great series.

As a millennial I grew up playing all the monkey island games. I have so many memories of running home after school to play these games for hours at a time. I have been waiting for them to show up on Apple Arcade for some time now and they did a great job with this game. The tip book is a great addition as well bc mindlessly looking for walkthroughs hints on the web gets annoying, it’s nice having it all wrapped in one if you need it. The graphics and story line are fun and there’s the classic humor here too. It’s my going to sleep & laying in bed in the morning game since it’s a simple point and click game. Anyway I’m rambling play this game! it’s fun even if you have never played the others before! Cheers
Less Grog But That's OK

I've been a Monkey Island fan since receiving a free tee shirt for completing a short trial version of the game in . . . whenever that was. The SOMI itself has always held a place in my heart for its unique take on sword fighting, acidic grog and red herrings. Playing 'Return to Monkey Island' these . . . many . . . years later duplicated the joys of the original game while simultaneously challenging me with innovative puzzles to aid the characters on their journey. I look forward to seeing if Threepwood's newly-discovered yarn spinning abilities and insights into underworld humor will aid him in any future swashbuckling endeavors. The only drawback? Now I want to wear my Secret of Monkey Island tee and have absolutely no idea what's become of it.
