Alana Chin

I study trees! I want to know how they work and survive in the context of their environments. I measure functional traits to better understand how structure is linked to tree performance and climatic tolerance in our rapidly changing world.

I grew up in Potter Valley, in Mendocino County, I attended Mendocino College before transferring to Humboldt where I did my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, my PhD was from UC Davis.
