Alexander Martin

Alexander is a PhD student in Science and Technology Studies (STS) at York University, focusing on the societal impacts of emerging technologies, including privacy, disinformation, and social media algorithms. Their research explores decentralized platforms like Mastodon and Bluesky, examining the shift toward digital freedom and polarization in online spaces. Alexander is also a part-time Communications professor at Conestoga College and a Junior Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada in Cybersecurity & Emerging Threats, where they analyze the implications of emerging technologies and strategies for mitigating online risks and misinformation.
