I am particularly interested in the impacts that plastics and microplastics have on ecosystems.

My PhD thesis (2017 - 2020) was titled "Impacts, Fate and Trophic Transfer of microplastics in the Freshwater Environment". My PhD was funded by the Irish EPA.

My next project (2020 - 2023) will now focus on the ocurrence of microplastics and their associated chemicals in coral habitats from the deep sea. This has been funded by the Irish Marine Institute.

I am currently based at University College Cork and the Environmental Research Insitute (Ireland).
