Alyssa Milton

To help people achieve optimal mental health and wellbeing across the lifespan, A/Prof Milton focuses on working with communities to co-produce child, youth, and adult mental health and wellbeing programs using participatory design and evaluation methodologies. Her goal is to make both face-to-face and digital programs more meaningful to the people who use them.

A/Prof Milton is a psychologist and research leader at The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health. She is the President Elect of the Society for Mental Health Research and the Director of the Knowledge Transfer Portfolio for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course. A/Prof Milton serves as a scientific advisor for multiple non-government organisations, and serves on the board of Life Education NSW, and as Chair of the Sydney Health Partner's Mental Health Clinical Academic Group. She has worked for over two decades in academic and senior management roles across the mental health sector in Australia and the UK. Previously, she was a Principal Research Associate, Senior Research Clinician, and lecturer at University College London (UCL), where she advised on and implemented interventions across NHS mental health services and contributed to the development of National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Guidelines.
