Andrew Gunn

I am currently researching in the School of Social Sciences, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

My work is informed by over fifteen years as a practitioner in a wide range of administrative, teaching and research roles within higher education. At the University of Leeds, I completed a competitive scholarship funded doctorate in the School of Politics and International Studies, followed by an externally funded postdoc in the School of Education. In 2011 I was Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Visiting Researcher at the University of Auckland. In 2014 I was Grant Holder and Principal Investigator of a Higher Education Academy (HEA) project. In Southeast Asia I been involved in two higher education projects funded by the British Government’s Newton Fund. In Australia, while researching at the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) in Melbourne, I contributed to the Monash Commission into the future of post-compulsory education in Australia. In Europe, I continue to be involved in the researcher conferences of the Bologna Process and I'm currently completing a project on the European Universities Initiative. I am an Associate Editor of ‘Higher Education Research and Development’, the peer review journal of the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia. I combine academic work with consultancy and have provided external advice to a number of universities internationally.
