Anja Mrhar

I am a researcher and PhD student at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and affiliated with the Aging Research Center, Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, Karolinska Institutet.
My research is in nutritional epidemiology, with a focus on ageing, dementia prevention and brain health. I study how dietary patterns, food intake and nutrition-related factors are associated with cognitive ageing, dementia risk and blood-based biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegeneration.
My work uses population-based cohort data and epidemiological methods to better understand how nutrition may contribute to healthier ageing and potentially delay or reduce the burden of dementia and related age-associated conditions.
