Annagrazia Puglisi

I completed my undergraduate studies in Astrophysics at the University of Padova, graduating in 2014 with a thesis on galaxy evolution. I earned my PhD from the same university in 2018, focusing on the properties of the interstellar medium in distant galaxies. During my PhD, I spent a year at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Munich, working on a project investigating the connection between galaxies and supermassive black holes. After completing my PhD, I spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at CEA-Saclay in Paris, followed by four years at Durham University. Currently, I hold a Senior Research Fellowship at the University of Southampton.

I study how galaxies of the distant Universe assemble their mass and stop forming stars by combining observations from the largest telescopes in the world, such as the Very Large Telescope, ALMA and JWST. I am also passionate about promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Astronomy.
