Annie Sandrussi

Annie Sandrussi is a political philosopher working on ecological and difference-based ontologies and how these inform the role of technology in mediating the relationship between humans and nature as a whole.

Her research considers the way that animals are imagined within food systems, as well as how individuals negotiate their own interests in relation to institutions and public policy. Annie's insights are informed by poststructuralism, psychoanalysis and phenomenology, especially as they underpin the politics of difference.

She completed her PhD in philosophy at Macquarie University and is currently a research fellow with the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology.

She lives and works on the unceded lands of the Bidjigal and Wallumedegal people.
