Professor Brendan Mackey is Director of the Climate Action Beacon at Griffith University, Queensland. Prof Mackey has a PhD in vegetation ecology from The Australian National University and has authored and co-authored over 280 academic publications in the fields of environmental science and policy, including the interactions between climate change, biodiversity and land use; the role of science in policy formulation of environmental regulatory frameworks, and the nexus between climate change responses and sustainable development.
