Brian Davidson

Trained as an agricultural economist and having researched trade, policy and poverty concerns in Australia, I am now interested in valuing water resources. This work has been conducted in numerous countries and is centred on the catchment scale. This has led to a significant contribution to the work on 'system harmonisation in water resources'. System harmonisation is an attempt to take a positivist approach to integrated water resource management concerns. In it the hydrological, economic, sociological, environmental and political dimensions of water allocation are assessed in a comprehensive and all encompassing manner. In addition I teach the subject, Governing Environments to first year students at the University of Melbourne.
