Bridget Mac Eochagáin (she/her) is a PhD student in the Theatre and Performance Studies Discipline at the University of Sydney and Lecturer at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts. Her academic interests lie in contemporary political theatre, queer feminism(s), and the complications of staging sexual violence and harm in an increasingly trauma-informed and consent-based Western neoliberal world. Her PhD project is the cementing of Radical Rape Theatre as a theoretical tool of political theatre and positioning contemporary plays that exist within this sphere. Bridget is also the inaugural co-convenor of the Gender and Sexuality Studies ‘Werking’ Group for the Australasian Association for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies and has recently published an article in Vol. 86 of the Australasian Drama Studies Journal, titled: Anger, Pain and Hope in Prima Facie: Politicising the Contemporary Subject Through Affective Depictions of Rape on Stage.
