Camila Corvalan

Camila Corvalán Aguilar is a Surgeon (Universidad de Chile), Master in Public Health (Universidad de Chile) and PhD in Nutrition (Emory University, United States). She is a Full Professor of the Public Nutrition Unit of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology (INTA) of the University of Chile. She is also the director and principal investigator of the Center for Research in Food Environments and Prevention of Chronic Diseases Associated with Nutrition (CIAPEC-INTA).

His lines of research focus on the population study of the early nutritional determinants of obesity and chronic diseases associated with nutrition. He participates in the evaluation of public policies and technical advice to public organizations in Chile and abroad, among which the Impact Assessment of the Chilean Law on Food Labeling and Advertising (Law 20.606). It is also part of international cooperation networks for monitoring food environments, such as INFORMAS.
