Camila Silva

I have been a PhD candidate at Lancaster University since 2016, and before that I was a research assistant at the Brazilian Institute for Space Research. I am interested in understanding wildfires disturbances on Amazonian forests ecosystems, and the associated carbon emissions. I have been researching Amazon forest degradation since 2012 investigating the losses and recovery of carbon stocks using ground observations and remote sensing data.

Over the years I have leaded many field expeditions across the Brazilian Amazon for monitoring forest dynamics. I have published studies in journals including Nature Communication, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society and Remote Sensing.
