Carlos Mario Gómez Gómez

Carlos Mario Gómez is a tenured professor of Economic Analysis at the University of Alcalá in Madrid and associated resercher at the IMDEA Water Foundation in Madrid. BA in Political Science, BA in Economics (Spain), MSc in Agricultural Development (University of London) and PhD in Economics (UAH). He has been Research Associate (1994) and Visiting Scholar (2000) at the University of California Berkeley and Fellow at the Lady Margareth Hall College of the University of Oxford for Michaelmas (2013 and 2014).
C. M. Gómez has done extensive research on economic development, tourism, resource and environmental economics and have published a collection of books, book chapters and a number of papers in peer-reviewed international journals (see: Research Gate profile: http://goo.gl/QlmtH3 and citations in google scholar: http://goo.gl/RRZDSj ). Since 2000 he has been involved in a sequence of competitive research projects at a national and European level under the 7th Framework, Horizon 2020 and Horizon EU research programs of the European Commission.
He has chaired the Department of Economics of Alcalá from 2015 until January 2022. Since 2010 he is leading the economic analysis in a series of EU research and innovation projects such as EPI Water, AQUACROSS and Water4Al. Under a Framework Contract, he works as policy advisor for freshwater policy of the European Commission, the World Bank and the Spanissh government.
