Caroline Swee Lin Tan

Associate Professor Caroline Swee Lin Tan, known to colleagues and students as Carol, is Program Manager of the Master of Fashion (Entrepreneurship) at RMIT University. She is lead editor and contributing author of Fashion Entrepreneurship: Principles and Practice (Routledge, 2026) and a recipient of the 2025 ICSB Global Entrepreneurship Education Excellence Award.

Since 2003, Carol has researched the success factors of fast-growth small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with her work expanding into sustainable fashion, consumer behaviour, greenwashing, and circular economy practices. Her expertise is regularly sought by national and international media, including ABC News, ABC Radio, 7NEWS, Science & Vie (France) and Newsweek Japan.
