Cathy Fowley

Dr Cathy Fowley is a researcher at Dublin City University where her work spans digital literacies, technologies for learning and life writing. She holds a PhD in internet research and applies qualitative approaches to understanding how people use digital technologies across the life course, particularly focusing on older adults and intergenerational learning. Cathy has been involved with DCU’s Intergenerational Learning Programme since its inception, where she coordinates technology-focused modules and mentors students in teaching digital skills and lifewriting. She is editor of Stories of There and Then, a series capturing life stories authored by programme participants, and leads externally funded projects exploring community engagement through digital media. Her published work includes research on online behaviour, ethical dimensions of internet research and informal learning through technology.
