Celeste specialises in early childhood education, reading for pleasure, children’s literature the importance of diversity in children’s literature. She volunteers on several committees connected with reading including IBBY (International Board for Books for Young Children), Kids Lit Quiz ™ and Storylines. She has a long history of involvement in the importance of reading and especially reading for pleasure. Her MEd focussed on what motivates children to read for pleasure and her current research is related to investigating the value of story in young children's lives.
