Chris Colvin

Dr Chris Colvin is a Reader in Economic History at Queen's University Belfast. His research interests include historical banking crises, cooperative organisations, famines and sample selection, patents and innovation, and macroeconomic policy formulation and implementation.

Chris holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Bristol, and an MSc and PhD in Economic History from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is an Associate of The Economics Network and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. In 2019 he spent a research sabbatical at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Amsterdam.

Chris has published in all leading journals in economic history, including The Journal of Economic History, The Economic History Review and Business History Review. With Matthias Blum, he co-edited An Economist's Guide to Economic History (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018).
