Christopher Erwin

I am an applied labor economist currently holding a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. I earned a Ph.D. Economics from the University of New Mexico with major fields in econometrics and labor economics in 2018. My primary research focuses on the intersection of labor economics and the economics of education. Specifically, I am interested in transitions from higher education to the labor market, the effects of delayed college graduation
on early labor market outcomes, and the intended and unintended effects of broad-based state merit aid on student outcomes
. I am also interested in strategies to narrow the income gap in college graduation. I am currently working on a series of studies involving literacy and numeracy skills in Aotearoa New Zealand.
