I do research in the field of geodynamics, mainly from a process-modelling perspective supported by multidisciplinary data compilation and acquisition. I develop physical-mathematical models coupling the physics of plate tectonics and processes occurring at the surface of the Earth, to understand the formation of topographic relief. I have also made some contributions to the understanding of the isolation of the Mediterranean during the Messinian Salinity Crisis. Another line of research is the study of large flooding events and their relevance in long-term landscape evolution.
