Danielle Brewer-Deluce

Dr. Danielle Brewer-Deluce is an Assistant Professor in Kinesiology at Western University. An educational scholar with 10 years experience teaching in university classrooms, she has taught anatomy and physiology at undergraduate, graduate and professional levels, as well as courses on the theory and practice of university teaching and learning for graduate students across campus. Dr. Brewer-Deluce earned her PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology (Western University), studying the effects of aging and contact sport on cognitive function. She also completed a Postdoctoral fellowship in Anatomy and Kinesiology at McMaster University. Now, her research spans education, anatomy and assessment to better understand how students learn, and what supports they need to succeed. Specifically, she is interested in three areas: 1) designing and testing better learning tools, 2) evaluating how assessment can drive learning and course development, and 3) measuring how interprofessional competencies develop in health professions trainees. Dr. Brewer-Deluce was recently recognized with the American Association for Anatomy's Early-Career Anatomist Publication award for her work on Q-methodology for Course Assessment.
