Darren Paul Fisher

Dr Darren Paul Fisher is a multi-award-winning screenwriter, director, producer and academic, and Head of Film, Screen and Creative Media at Bond University, Australia. He holds a PhD in narrative feature filmmaking and is a recipient of the prestigious Australians in Film/Screen Queensland Greg Coote Scholarship, awarded to screen practitioners with a successful track record of creating compelling drama for the screen.

Darren works across both the large and small screens, and is currently developing a variety of projects with various industry partners. His last film, the science-fiction mystery Frequencies, won a raft of international festival awards before a global release to rave reviews, The New York Times calling it "fiercely intelligent" and The Hollywood Reporter commenting that the film had "the political heft of a 1984 or Brave New World". His feature film debut was writing, producing and directing Inbetweeners (Universal Pictures).

Darren is also a regular cultural commentator in the Australian media, with opinion pieces on screen-related topics syndicated both nationally and internationally.
