David Hunter

David Hunter is Professor Emeritus at American University's Washington College of Law, where he taught and researched about international environmental and human rights law for more than twenty years. Among his many publications on sustainable development, are more than ten articles and books on international accountability mechanisms at international financial institutions and the most popular textbook on international environmental law. He has been a leading advocate and architect of independent accountability mechanisms at international development finance and has advised Indigenous Peoples and vulnerable communities around the world in using international legal strategies to protect their rights and interests in development projects.
