Dylan Wyn Jones

Dylan Wyn Jones is a lecturer at North Wales Medical School, Bangor University, and programme lead for the university’s IBMS-accredited Biomedical Science degree. He is a Health and Care Professions Council registered biomedical scientist, with previous experience working in NHS blood sciences.

His academic and teaching work focuses on biomedical science, diagnostic medicine, haematology, transfusion, patient safety, healthcare regulation and the role of laboratory medicine in the wider NHS. He is also interested in medical history, public engagement and how complex scientific and healthcare issues can be explained clearly to non-specialist audiences.

Dylan’s work connects clinical science with the practical realities of healthcare delivery, particularly in Wales. He regularly teaches and writes about diagnostics, professional practice, quality assurance, workforce development and the relationship between laboratory services, clinical decision-making and patient care.
