Ed Hawkins is a climate scientist in the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) at the University of Reading. Current research interests are in rescuing millions of lost weather observations to better understand extreme weather and decadal variability of the climate. He was a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 6th Assessment Report (AR6).
