Eilidh Noyes

I am a Lecturer in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Leeds. My research is on the topic of human and machine face and person recognition. I investigate how humans and machines learn new faces, how accurate they are at facial comparisons, and how we can improve human and machine face and person recognition performance, particularly in challenging recognition scenarios.

My recent research projects include investigation of the performance of face recognition algorithms, and human-machine systems as well as identification performance of super-recognisers, and forensic examiners. I am interested in recognition, detection and perceptions of real faces, manipulated faces, and AI faces as well as person identification from cues beyond the face.

I have experience in working with applied users of face recognition internationally, including police and forensic face examiners.
