Elinor Harrison is a dancer and movement scientist who applies her dance expertise to research studies aimed at improving mobility across the lifespan, specifically for people with movement impairments due to aging and neurological decline. Her current research explores singing as a therapeutic technique to improve walking in people with Parkinson disease, dance and balance in older women, and improvisational movement and creativity in college students.

Dr. Harrison is on faculty at Washington University in St. Louis, where she teaches dance technique, anatomy and kinesiology, neuroscience, and dance science research methodology. She also regularly choreographs dance theatre works on students and professionals in the region.

Dr. Harrison serves as co-chair of the Research and Publications Committee and a founding member of the Dance for Health Corps through the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science.
