Elizabeth Lanphier is a moral philosopher and bioethicist. She earned her PhD in philosophy from Vanderbilt University and an MS degree in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University. Dr. Lanphier completed a postdoctoral clinical ethics fellowship with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and now works as an ethicist and scholar in the Ethics Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, with academic appointments in the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and University of Cincinnati Philosophy Department. Her articles published in The Conversation reflect her scholarship and research expertise and not the views or opinions of any institution with which she may be or have been affiliated.
